My immigration application status changed from “Received” to “Under Review” today! I’m very likely just weeks away from being a certified ” temporary pensionado” resident with CAJA healthcare and a DIMEX card.

When “Under Review” changes to the final category (either RESOLUTION/accepted or “RESOLUTION/glitch of some sort that needs to be taken care of”), I can either pay the fees, apply for  CAJA and my DIMEX card or jump through whatever glitchy hoop I need to to get everything in order. (I’ll have six months to do that as long as I respond within ten days to the notice that something is haywire that I need to fix, so I’ll be keeping my eye on the status like a hawk until then.)

Because my docs were submitted clean, green and pristine

… and my FBI background check came back without blemishes, I’m not anticipating glitches of any kind, so I could be deemed a legit temporary pensionado for two years in just a few weeks.

And today is ballot help day in Grecia, so I’ll be riding in with Kathy Neckar to get that taken care of.

Everything is heading in the right direction for me.

I’m over the moon!

These two things can’t be in my rearview mirror soon enough.  I want to feel like a part of this novel nation. I want to put my passport and expediente documents away so I don’t have to carry them around with me all the time.

I can’t wait to get on the buses with a DIMEX card so everyone can see I’m committed to being here long term (like forever!) and not just passing through.
