Tranquilo!

August 8, 2025

I’ve stopped asking my Costa Rica helpers for anything more.

I’m prepared as best I can be on this side of the borders (this has been confirmed by everyone in CR), and over-thinking/over-questioning is unhelpful busy work to keep me from going stir crazy. So I’m going to do other things instead.

What those other things are have yet to be determined.

Maybe I’ll just veg/vacation/rest!  There has been a series of very busy months with non-stop must do’s to be able to be 100% ready to make the move. Now that I’ve reached the tail end of the to-do’s — the ones that remain must happen on future dates, not today, tomorrow or next week — I have to decide how to spend the last few weeks here in the USA.

I will spend it…

  • reminding myself to relax so I won’t arrive looking or acting like a frantic Yankee when I arrive
  • blogging (one of my favorite pastimes)
  • visiting with friends
  • finalizing my will and family agreements regarding the eventual sale of this property
  • loving on Patches, who will be moving back in with Lisa before I fly
  • loving on Charli, who knows something is up but not what it is; she’s being clingy now that so many familiar things have disappeared (goats, furniture, everything that is already packed away in my luggage, etc.)
  • dispersing the pieces of remaining furniture that various people want
  • trying to find homes for a few pieces of furniture that no one has claimed as their own yet, and that my nieces don’t want
  • looking for homes for the remaining stack of books that I wrote
  •  what else? Whatever comes up!

If nothing more comes up, so much the better. I will use the down time on the first order of business: reminding myself to relax.

I’ll sleep more!  Rest more!  Relax more!  So that I can fall into the pura vida vibe as readily as any native Tico.

¡Tranquilo!

Update:

My prescriptions are ready to pick up and the flu shots have arrived,

so that’s what I’ll be doing part of the time this afternoon!
