I’m down to 164 pounds nekkid. I haven’t weighed this little since I was a teenager. It feels great!
I’ve lost at least 65 pounds in just over five years, which is a good rate: not too fast not too slow. I started with pickleball, then segued (during COVID) to walking religiously. And my diet has become healthier, too.
The good news is that most USA expats with a little extra to lose do lose about 10% or more of their body weight after moving to Costa Rica. This is because CR foods aren’t laden with addictive additives and they’re more natural and locally/regionally grown, and the soil in CR is still nutritious.
So, if I’m typical, I will lose another 15 to 20 pounds when I get down there. I will be walking more (no vehicle!) and eating from ferias (farmer’s markets) and sodas (tico-owned diners who serve local foods) so that should be the ticket to get me down to about 145-150, where I’d feel “just right,” given my body type, bone desnity and musculature. WHEE!!!
