I’ve Been Depressed for Three Days Now — Going to the Beach to Collect Some Negative Ions

June 6, 2023

I’ve been depressed for three days now, which is unusual for me, so I’m going to the beach to collect some negative ions from the ocean. There is so much road construction in this state right now that I expect I’ll end up at Owen Beach, which is on Puget Sound, not on the Pacific Ocean. That’ll work, but I was hoping for ocean vibes. Oh, well!!!

Whatever!  I’ll take what I can get today and maybe I’ll take some photos, too, if I see anything sensational/spectacular while I’m there!

Update to follow…

Lisa, Jim and I went to Owen Beach and ate KFC. The chicken was cremated — really, really overcooked — but we choked it down anyway, since it cost almost $50 for 12 pieces, three sides, six dry biscuits and maybe a quart (if that) of A&W root beer (slightly flat) Disappointing meal but the beach was fabulous!  Jeez!  Needless to say, I don’t recommend the KFC on Pearl Street on the way to Point Defiance. I will not stop there anymore!

I didn’t take any pictures but Lisa did because a bee  befriended me for about five minutes. (I think it liked the residue from honey that I put on the two biscuits I ate.)

We also saw a begging raccoon (we didn’t feed it, per the rules, but obviously a lot of other people have!) and a young deer (still a few spots), which joined revelers on the patch of lawn at Owen Beach for at least 15 minutes. We didn’t get photos of that… but  a little girl almost walked up to it, and the deer really wanted to meet her — and would have — until her dad got closer and then the deer bolted away.
