WOO HOO! I’m having my best month ever.
From May 15th to now I’ve made just over $10,000 as a writer for hire. Exhausting but exhilarating!
And I’m still not finished with all the assignments, which have yet to be billed for! Best of all, the client (a regular) remains deliriously happy!
Of course, this means I haven’t had time to keep my blogs and other social media up to date. And I’m almost too tired to remedy that right now.
I may come back here later tonight or tomorrow to catch you up on the other doings (chicks, Enterprise flight, special guests for June 17th EVER NEW, my tooth implant, etc.) but no guarantees. I’m seriously bushed.
In fact, I could be writing more for this client but those assignments aren’t due until August, so I’m under no serious deadline to get them back. I’m thankful for that. I’ve done the research for them already and half of the writing for one of them, so I’m ahead of the game there.
11:05 I took a nap so I have a few brain cells to dedicate to catching you up pn additional things…
THE CHICKS
The chicks are growing exponentially and doing fine. When I go in and sit with them, at least five of them fly up or over to sit on me and “chat” so that’s heading in the right direction.
I got some free plastic nesting boxes from Cappy’s, so I’ve fixed a place under the outer shed so they can lay eggs out there and I will still be able to find them (once they start laying in September or October).
I need to replace one of the henhouse panels this coming week so it will be in place when the cooler weather arrives this fall.
THE CELESTIS ENTERPRISE FLIGHT
The Enterprise flight, as far as I know, doesn’t have a launch date yet, but June and July are still listed on the Celestis.com website, so it looks like those months are still options.
TOOTH IMPLANT
My final tooth implant procedure (screwing in the abutment and crown) happens on Tuesday. I am looking forward to having that behind me, after a year!
SPECIAL DE DAY GUESTS FOR JUNE 17TH EVER NEW PODCAST
The present list of special guests for the De Day EVER NEW event on June 17th is this:
AMY ULEN
(Star Trek and Shakespeare actor, among other impressive accomplishments)
T. RICK PRICE
(Daily Star Trek News contributor)
DAN MADSEN
(STAR TREK/ STAR WARS credits too numerous to list in a single thumbnail line)
LARRY NEMECEK
(credits too numerous to list in a single thumbnail line)
THORSTEN WALCH
(He wrote the German language edition of my DeForest Kelley Up Close and Personal title)
MICHAEL AND DENISE OKUDA
(special effects/graphics/and more for nearly all post-1980’s Trek — and more — series and motion pictures)
MICHELLE CAMPBELL
(an EMT whose career choice was influenced by De’s character Dr McCoy)
I have been given Karl Urban’s contact information by his NZ agency and have reached out to him to see if he’s available on June 17th, but haven’t heard back yet. I remain hopeful.
I didn’t hear back from any of the remaining original STAR TREK cast, so I don’t expect them to appear unless they surprise us at the last possible moment. Not holding my breath… (Walter Koenig created what I consider to be the finest tribute to De ever written not long after his passing, so I really hoped he would visit with us and read it, but it looks like that’s an errant hope.)
Just with the folks who have already confirmed, the ten spots are filled, including Hannah and me. If more agree to appear, we will have to limit the amount of time guests appear onscreen (Streamyard only can handle ten people at a time) so others can join in. OR we will have to split the De Day into two separate EVER NEW weeks.
After we’ve done the one on the 17th, we’ll know more about who wants to join us again in the future as special guests or occasional co-hosts when Hannah can’t serve for some reason.
However it turns out, it’s going to be ONE EXCITING DAY, that’s for sure!
