Had a Lovely Day Yesterday with Lisa

December 6, 2022

Well, well, well!  I finally spent a lovely half-day with Lisa, for the first time in what seemed like for-freaking-ever.

Lisa is one busy person!  She has been working six days a week, 12 hour shifts during three of them, so she hasn’t had time or energy to do much else for well over a year. (I don’t know how she does it, frankly, but then, she’s almost a decade and a half younger than I am, so maybe that’s how, but I’m still not sure I could carry her work load over a period of time like  she has at the age she is now. I worry about her!) She’s a miracle worker, for sure!

But one of her clients ended up in the hospital toward the end of last week, so she has had a few days to rest up (except for the three 12-hour days!!!) so yesterday we got together for what felt like “the old times” when she had more free time to herself.

We went shopping for a Christmas wreath hanger. We also visited Wilco to see what they have in the way of Christmas tree decorations.  We were hoping they’d have a wreath hanger, too, but they didn’t so we drove to Walmart (boo hiss) to get one.  But while we were there, I spotted a three-feet tall stuffed Mr. Grinch and I put him in my shopping cart. When Lisa saw it, she was so tickled that I bought it for her.  I suggested he could go next to her Christmas tree. She said, “Oh, no! I’m going to have it sitting on the passenger seat of my vehicle!” HA HA HA HA HA!!!  So, Mr. Grinch will be delighting  a lot of folks this holiday season, not just Lisa and her guests!

After we left Walmart, we went to Anglea’s for lunch. I had a chef’s salad. Lisa had fish and chips. That’s when we actually had the chance to catch up, conversation-wise. We’re both in the holiday spirit this year, big-time. There isn’t any particular reason for it, but it just seems perfect timing, even with COVID still a deciding factor in how we go about dining and shopping.

When we got back to my place, we dug out some of her Christmas ornaments and decorations from the shed here at my place, but it was very cold out there, so she didn’t get everything she plans to, I don’t think.  There is still plenty of time to get more if she needs more.

After that, Lisa headed back to her place, loaded down with two t-shirts (including the one I got her as a pre-Christmas gift to make her laugh. It reads MOST LIKELY TO SHAKE THE PRESENTS. Even though Lisa is not really a present shaker, she loves a good laugh, so I know she’ll wear it around to give people a grin), a few items she ordered and had shipped here,  and her Christmas box of ornamets and decorations.

Here’s what the tshirt that I got her looks like:

I bought it from BarbieSue DelanyMcCrane (Hannah’s mom).

BarbieSue made me another one for  Jackie, too, which is perfect for her. She loves it!

And then BarbieSue surprised me by including this, for me:

A Starfleet Gnome!

She is soooo clever!  Ceck out her Facebook page. It’s called Decoration Duo. Here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/368957584269562

She is also a Scentsy representative. The URL to find here there is: https://barbiesuemccrane.scentsy.us/consultant/bio

I’m all for supporting small businesses. (I’m a small business myself!)  If we knew of a small business that had wreath hangers,we never would have gone to Walmart!
