A new mask mandate goes into effect here in Washington State in just three days, so I hope to see a lot more masks Monday than I saw today while I was out and about doing my sister’s bidding!
Jackie wanted cake donuts, so I drove to three places looking for some. There were none.
The person behind the bakery counter at Safeway said there’s a shortage of donuts right now.
Store shelves are bare in a lot of spots (not just toilet paper). The people who supply the stores, or stock the shelves, are sick, or have quit, or something. So walking into a store now fees like entering the Twilight Zone to find too little product and too few personnel. HELP WANTED SIGNS FESTOON THE PLACE.
They might as well read, “JOIN US IN COVID COUNTRY, WHERE NEARLY HALF THE PEOPLE DON’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOUR WELLBEING (AND YOU CAN EASILY TELL WHO THEY ARE BY WITNESSING WHO’S WEARING MASKS VERSUS THOSE STRUTTING AROUND PROCLAMING THEIR FREEDUMB)!”
Today MOST of the people out shopping are mask-less, heedless, blind and deaf to the damning evidence all around them, even though they know a mask mandate is right around the corner and today is a better day to don a mask than Monday, because DELTA COVID IS ALREADY HERE: IT ISN’T WAITING ‘TIL MONDAY TO GET UP YOUR NOSE OR IN YOUR EYES OR MOUTH.
A day or so ago there was even a FREEDOM RALLY in Buckley, comprised of anti-vaccine and anti-mask protesters. Yes, protesting the Monday masking mandate.
Insane! Truly insane! With young children, unmasked, at their hips, also holding signs.
I wish people could see the DELTA COVID virus in the air and on surfaces
If they could, I think anti-maskers would be singing a different tune.
To those affected by COVID, it IS visible.
It is visible in lingering, long lasting aftereffects including fatigue, general malaise, and other debilitating conditions.
It is visible in the number of chairs that will be empty around the dinner table and during the holidays.
It is visible in the way we have to live now to keep from getting infected by those who think it’s all a big hoax, or not really that big a deal. Certainly, there are fewer and fewer of them every day as COVID claims additional lives, and as this Delta variant spreads like wildfire, taking its toll on people who drank Trump’s kool-aid about how benign or “fake” this monstrous menace truly is.
I am going to make a prediction that I hope will NOT come true.
I think at least 50 million men, women and children are going to die, and that a billion or more are going to suffer the abiding long term consequences of having caught the virus and not succumbed to it, before this pandemic takes its last victim.
Unless the lemmings wake up and start paying attention to scientists and medical experts instead of Cadet Bone Spurs Who Lies Most of the Time, that is what is going to happen. And, I’ll confess, if it just happened to them, I’d be (sadly) accepting of that (one’s actions, including their agreement to swallow disinformation by the gallon without question, have consequences). But it is going to happen to a lot of other people who did everything right and then somehow ran afoul of the virus (or a strain a vaccine could not contain), too, and that’s what sucks most.
Your rights end where other people’s wellbeing begins.
You don’t have the right to drill a hole in the bottom of a boat we’re both in.
You don’t have the right to infect others because you don’t want to wear a mask or get a shot or wash your hands or keep your distance.

Think of your fellow humans, if thinking about yourself or your own loved ones isn’t sufficient to get you to act responsibly.
No one wants to take your freedom. We’re trying to save your life, fer gosh sakes!!!
If you can’t grasp that, you’re more lemming (getting thrown off cliffs BY MALEFACTORS* to satisfy their nefarious goals) than I can even imagine.
*Malefactors can also be defined, in this instance, as (mostly) Male Falsehood Actors
(although there are the Marjorie Taylor Greene’s and Lauren Boebert’s of the world also being either clueless lemmings or lie spew-ers: I’m not entirely sure which category they belong to…)
