It’s Saturday and I’ve been out of the apartment twice. Back home now, thinking about Tuesday’s DEMOCRATS ABROAD meeting.

Today’s outings included walking with Cindy and two of her dogs, plus a trip to Coope Victoria for lunch and to pick up more res molido (ground beef) and pizzas personales.

Alas, the panaderia only had two pizzas left by the time we got there. I snagged them both for meals this evening and tomorrow.

Tuesday Cindy and I Will Attend DEMOCRATS ABROAD

…so we can get the latest on what’s the best (safest and most reliable) way(s) to get our midterm ballots back to our election boards in our home states (Maine and Washington).

There are so many intentional shenanigans going on

…to try to deny (and perhaps even alter) our votes that the safest thing is probably to have someone carry our printed and signed paper ballots back to the States and deliver them to the proper authorities, bypassing the USPS and Elon Musks’s satellites totally.

The more people who vote on paper ballots, the better. Those of us living abroad can have the ballots delivered electronically, print them out, and have them taken to the Embassy or couriered personally to their destinations.

Electronic voting is potentially rife with potential abuse

Ask for a paper ballot if you aren’t sent one, take a photo of your completed ballot, sign and date it as required, and then hand in the original at your voting place or in a designated drop box. That way, there’s a paper trail, and no one can intervene to change your vote enroute.

Yes, it sounds paranoid, but given the current regime, it’s the only way to be sure your vote gets tallied properly and delivered.  Check your voter registration status and check to be sure your ballot was delivered and accepted. Most states have websites that help you do these things.

It shouldn’t be this damned hard to get our ballots

…delivered and counted properly but under this regime, it is. The entire Project 2025 team and this administration should be investigated and charged with  treasonable offenses to our Constitution and form of government. There’s certainly enough evidence to charge (and probably convict), so I hope that when the DEMS re-take Congress, this will be on their to do list, front and center.  (Yeah, a lot more needs to be done, too, but first we need to get the bastards OUT who are causing the catastrophic damage that is occurring to our institutions, policies, rule of law, Constitution, etc.)

Banana Thief!

I’ve had bananas ripening on my back patio for several weeks.  For a long time, I left them bunched together on their stalk, but recently (several days ago) I separated them so the sunshine could reach them evenly.

Well!

Overnight two nights ago, I awoke to find three of the bananas zipped open and their innards gone. I figure it’s a pizote (coatimundi) who is stopping by to partake.  Which is fine with me.

So, last night I put three more out for the critter, just outside my glass patio door, hoping I’d be able to catch it in action.

Alas!  It ignored the easy, ground level pickings and jumped onto the plastic table and ate three more!

So, tonight, I plan to place the table right outside the patio door and hope to catch the thief in action that way, so I can videotape it to share with y’all.  Wish me luck!  I’m doing my best!

Cindy gave me six Costa Rican apples from her tree, so I put the three least ripe ones on the table to give the critter an additional treat.

Turned on the patio spot lights, too, so there will be enough light to reveal who’s visiting but, even then, the video/images won’t be post card quality. I just hope they’re good enough to see what species it is that’s hanging around.  It’s definitely a local fruit eater of some kind! AI has returned some potential partakers in the mammal family. I should know soon enough who it is.
