I’m in my new home now and 99.9999% squared away — squared away enough that I’m going to leave the rest ’til tomorrow. (Minor tweaking is all, to get everything just the way I like it.
I am thrilled with the apartment and the premises. The apartment is excellent and the landlady is welcoming and responsive.
I’m not allowed to take pictures of the place except for the flowers and bushes (for security reasons), but all of you residents of CR who know me have seen it already and you know how great it is. (Turns out everyone I know here knows everybody else!) The rest of you will just have to visit if you want to see it. But trust me, I couldn’t be any happier. It’s a truly splendid apartment and probably twice as big as the casita was!
Charli Peed and Poo’ed in her carrier on the way over
The poop was very solid (and odorless, thankfully!) but the vast majority of the pee got on my pants leg. A little bit of it also got onto Marianela’s vehicle’s floor mat, so as soon as we got where we were headed, we cleaned her vehicle immediately so she wouldnt have eau de cat piss to contend with all the rest of the day. (Charli, Charli, Charli! That was a first!)
I was less lucky. I didn’t get out of my pussy pissed pants until about 45 minutes after we unloaded the vehicle because the landlady wanted to give me the tour and the to do’s and not so do’s right away so she could turn me loose to put my stuff away.
As soon as she departed to tackle the rest of her day, I took off my pussy-pissed pants, washed them in the sink, and then hung them in the shower to dry while I unpacked. Charli headed under the bed, where she has remained most of the day except for a few furtive forays to see this apartment. She hasn’t eaten yet, but she’s not unduly rattled anymore. I expect she will explore more when the lights are out and then she’ll join me on the bed to sleep. That’s how it usually goes when we move…
NO WIND CHIMES FOR NOW
It’s windy season so I won’t be putting up my wind chimes until that’s over. They’d be too much right now. (I noticed that at Casita Tucana the past few days, too.) Breezes are windchime friendly. Gale force winds are not!
There isn’t much else to report right now. I’ve put in 5686 steps so far today while moving. I’ll probably reach at least 6500 before sundown, when I plan to hit the hay like a ton of bricks. As exciting as all of this has been, it has been tiring, and I didn’t sleep much last night in anticipation of the move, so I’m ready for a great night’s sleep.
Thank you for the many WELCOME HOME and BEST WISHES and HI NEIGHBOR and etc sentiments on Facebook this afternoon. When I logged on and saw them just now, they made my day! Y’all are the best!
