There is NO WAY the Department of Justice can ignore the facts of Donald Trump’s involvement in fomenting the January 6th, 2021 coup attempt.

 

I have been glued to the insurrection investigation revelations. If there was ever any doubt in the minds of those who are watching about Donald Trump’s involvement in the coup attempt, they have been put to rest.  He is guilty as hell, guilty as sin, and he has banned anyone on his social network who tries to post anything about the investigation revelations.  And Fox is refusing to air the committee that is reporting the results of its investigation. That pretty much tells you all you need to know about the former guy’s (and Fox’s) culpability. The truth hurts and so they don’t want you to know about it.

 

So far, here are some of the damning conclusions from the first two hearings, for those of you who want thumbnail sketches of the damning evidence:

FROM THE FIRST HEARING (June 9TH):

 

• Ivanka Trump accepted former Attorney General William Barr’s statement that there was insufficient voter fraud in the 2020 election to cause it to change the results in Trump’s favor.  (An aside: all but a few of the 400+ voter fraud incidents in the 2020 election were by GOP voters who voted for Trump more than once).
• Barr testified that he resigned in December ’20 from the Trump administration rather than challenge the election results. He called Trump’s contention of a stolen election “bullshit” after reviewing the evidence from all five of the contested states.
• Liz Cheney declared that Trump “oversaw a 7-part plan to overturn the election.” (The 7-part  plan will be revealed over the course of the next few days during the televised committee sessions)
• Capitol Police Officer Caroling Edwards described how the coup attempts went down from her perspective and how she suffered a concussion that knocked her unconscious while protecting the Capitol from protestors. When she came to, she continued to defend the Capitol officeholders against the unruly, dangerous mob.
• Documentarian Nick Quested showed a videotaped meeting between Proud Boys and  Oath Keepers leaders taken the day or evening before the Jan. 6 attack. (These two white supremacist, fascist leaders have been  charged with seditious conspiracy and have pled not guilty.)

FROM THE SECOND HEARING (June 13th):

 

• Trump advisers knew the election wasn’t stolen and told President Trump so repeatedly. Trump ignored them, preferring to listen to ass-kisser (my term, not the committee’s) Rudy Giuliani, who (drunk as a skunk — my term, not the committee’s: according to senior adviser Jason Miller, Giuliani was obviously “inebriated”) urged him to declare victory and embrace claims of voter fraud.
• Former Attorney General Barr declared under oath that the Dominion voting machine “conspiracy” (to elect Biden over Trump by manipulating data) was entirely bogus.

There will be another hearing late today and afew days hence. I will take continue to take notes and post them here.

 

But the bottom line is this:

Trump was told repeatedly that the election was fair (untainted by fraudulent activities) and that he had lost.

He refused to accept that and continued to claim the election was stolen, fomenting the rebellion that caused his true believers to storm the Capitol on January 6th to “stop the steal.”

 

Prior to the event, Trump told them, “If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country any more.”

 

They believed their lying leader and fought like hell.

 

THAT’S ON HIM!  His followers were lied to, incited, and invited to the Capitol on January 6th by him in a series of tweets and rallies. He stood by admiring their fortitude and bravery for long hours as they broke into the Capitol, went looking for his “enemies” on the Hill (high-profile and high ranking Democrats plus GOP Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell, who soon after credited Trump with the responsibility for what happened that day, and even his own Vice President, Mike Pence, for whom the crowd of seditionist conspirators demanded “Hang Mike Pence!”),and ransacked and laid laid waste (actual human waste included) to the building in which Joe Biden’s certification as the next POTUS was scheduled to take place via a counting of the electors’ votes.

 

And hundreds of these same people are successfully running for elected office in this year’s primaries to hold positions that have the capability of  overturning the will of the people: Secretaries of State, and other positions.

Vote-snuffing by white supremacist, fascist authoritarians? Not on OUR watch!

 

Our nation has never been in greater peril from within. These people and their representatives who continue to proclaim The Big Lie need to be brought to justice, and voted out of their offices, or we can kiss our democratic republic goodbye.
