Hong’s — A GREAT Restaurant in Tacoma/Lakewood WA

 Hong’s Tacoma/Lakewood Washington

Our Choices During this First Visit:

Beef and Broccoli, Chow Mein and Honey-Crusted Pork Chops — TO DIE FOR!!!

Lisa and I found a terrific, relatively new restaurant in Tacoma/Lakewood that is decidedly un-busy for a place with such AMAZING, DELICIOUS food and ambiance, so here’s my review. I hope it brings them additional new business. I know Lisa and I will be returning again and again.

Hong’s is in the same location as a Chinese restaurant that we used to visit occasionally, but the place is under new management with a new name and has been remodeled. The music that was playing when we visited was what you’d hear in an establishment with a live professional piano player: smooth jazz that was absolutely PERFECT for an afternoon lunch or evening meal.  I could have stayed all afternoon just for the music!  But we had a move to help with, so we just stayed long enough to eat.

We got there about 2. There were no other diners in the place. Some take out couriers came in from time to time to  get meals to deliver, but we were the only customers during the hour plus that we were there.

We waited about a half hour after ordering to receive our dishes, and the wait was totally worth it. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed tastier dishes.  Lisa and I shared what each had ordered so we could gauge for ourselves what we thought of our orders. Four thumbs up on every dish!!!

I let the fellow who served us know that I would be blogging about the place. He brought me a business card so I’d have all the info hand, to get the address and hours  right.  He told us Hong’s had hosted several graduation parties recently. I asked if he’d like more customers or if he was happy with the ones who already know about the place, and he said he would definitely love to welcome more people through their doors.

You won’t be disappointed. I’m already anticipating my next visit there!
