On Low Days Visit Your Fans’ Heads and Hearts to Resurrect Your Spirit

Are there times when you find yourself getting blase about what it is you offer to the world? Does the 10-second intro or 30-second elevator speech that issues from your mouth for what seems like the tenth time this week feel “canned” and sound lifeless, no matter how great it sounded when you first created it?

If so, you’re losing customers.

People want to feel the excitement and passion that you have for what you do. Never forget that. Just because you’ve heard and said the same thing countless times is no reason to say it that way. The person you’re speaking to has probably never heard it, or has heard it so few times that they’re still wrapping their minds around it and connecting you to what you do.

When you start to feel blase about your 10-second intro or 30-second elevator speech/commercial, swap it out; find a new, better one. And when you’re sure your audience knows what you do, go ahead and dispense with the standard intro and offer insights and helpful hints that can help them in their businesses. Occasionally, just offer an inspirational quote or a funny story and then sit down (if you’re networking). You don’t always have to be selling.

About Those “Blah” Days…

When you have a product, service or cause that your customers or clients are crazy about,  listen carefully for the words and phrases they use when they’re talking or writing about their passion for what you offer. Find ways to get on their wavelength and catch their wave.

By doing this, you can reconnect with your own reasons for offering what you offer and doing what you do.  Remember why you started and the benefits you expect your prospects to receive. This alone can re-kindle your fire.
