Dr. Seuss Day Was a Blast!

March 3, 2014

The kids were enthralled as I read O The Places You’ll Go! In two of three classrooms I read it in, kids raised their hands and said, “I loved the way you read that!” (Thank you, John Lithgow, for the training!) One young man asked me the name of the book again because he wanted to get it, now that it has been read with feeling!

Most of the kids in the three classrooms (grades 1 through 4) said they want to be writers when they grow up when I asked them, so I left my business card with their teachers so I can return to talk about the writing life later on.

Some of these kids have already written stories and made them into little hand-crafted books. The teacher showed me about ten of them…

So they’re underway!  And I’m delighted!  I love teachers who encourage their kids to read and write!
