Ballot Hiccup Has Me Riled Up

October 15, 2026

Great, just great: there has been a ballot sent/received hiccup that I’m trying to get ironed out before the deadline.

I have emails in to the Pierce County Auditor and to the Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs because the auditor’s office hasn’t been helpful other than to point me to votewa.gov to see the status of my ballot, which tells me, “Your ballot is ready to download and fill” or something similar (paraphrasing here).  GRRR!!!!

Yeah, I’m not happy!

We did everything right at this end.  The voting facilitator in Grecia emailed the docs to the Pierce County auditor on Sept 24th and sent me a copy to confirm. He also confirmed to me that it did not bounce back to him, so I reached out to the powers that be to try and figure out what went sideways.  Hope to hear back from one or both of them today or tomorrow.

I don’t have access to a printer so I can’t fill a provisional ballot, print and sign the proper form, and email it back to them.  The whole reason I attended the Grecia event was to make sure my ballot got signed and emailed in plenty of time to the auditor.   This late in the game, it’s pretty frustrating to see that it didn’t get where it was supposed to, although all indications were that it had.

CHECK FOR THE PROCESSING AND ACCEPTAMCE OF YOUR BALLOTS, PEOPLE!

DON’T ASSUME!

EVEN IN A BLUE STATE, THINGS CAN GO SIDEWAYS!!!
