I’m back in action, working on getting the three crucial immigration documents and apostiles that I need for my move to Costa Rica in September. I have a letter of request in to Social Security (since CR no longer recognizes self-printed income docs) and its apostilization, my order for a birth certificate and apostile, and yesterday I had my fingerprints taken for the FBI background check. It came back within five minutes, again squeaky clean and green. I need to order the apostile for it today after I visit the fingerprint place again because the password for the background check that they sent me doesn’t work, and because she wants me to be there to order the apostile document so she can see how that works and what I get back. (I guess she’s new at the place and working alone.)
BYE BYE to Tumnus and Tillie Tomorrow
My two goats will be rehomed on Sunday. The new owner and I put up the fencing panels and finished off the shed yesterday, so I can take them and their accoutrements over tomorrow and sit with them while they acclimate there.
More Assignments to Come from my Immigration Coach Next Week
Next week I’ll get several new assignments from my immigration atttorney Margaret Aliff. None of them require the interaction of any government agency fortunately. They just require a PC, a printer, and my time. I have all three of those!
I love working with Margaret. She keeps things (and me!) tranquilo and doesn’t give me more to do until all previous steps are taken care of, so the process doesn’t feel at all stressful or overwhelming. I will submit a cover letter to her this coming week for her to look over that explains why I settled on moving to Costa Rica after so many years of research. CR requires an explanation for why immigrants want to move there.) The immigration application package will include the above three docs, their respective apostiles, my cover letter, Spanish translations of all, and perhaps even more that I don’t know about yet.
BYE BYE PATTY!
My cousin Patty (WHO now prefers to be called Tricia or Trish) stayed with me for ten days and we put in more than 100 miles walking or biking during that time. We had great fun. She drove away yesterday morning at about 5:20 a.m., heading south on I-5 on a 14-hour trip to her next scheduled destination.
I took part in NO KINGS DAY here in Tacoma.

While I did that, Trish rode her bike from Point Defiance to Dune Peninsula and back. She loved the trip and the scenery, so we went there two days ago so I could experience it.
It was great.
We traveled down Ruston Way for 4 miles or so and then turned around because rain threatened. It caught us about halfway back. No biggy. It was warm rain and we were already warm from riding, so we didn’t get cold, just wet!
That’s all for now. I’m going to headback to the fingerprint place to get that “assignment” all squared away!
