Mr. Tumnus and Tillie will have a new home in two to three weeks. It’s just across the street from where my niece’s parents live, a very short drive from here. And I will have visitation rights until I leave the U.S. in September.
I’m very happy it turned out this way
The adopters are a mother and her five year old, super smart son. They came over today and met the goats and everything went perfectly well. I will be giving her all of the goats’ accoutrements — a lot of the security fencing, calf igloos, watering trough, hoof trimmers, cooling and heating coats, the whole nine yards. Plus, of course, she will get my goat books, although she has cared for other people’s goats in the past. She’s super conscientious.
It’s the perfect situation and perfect timing, too, because I will probably be having my hernia surgery shortly after they go, so I won’t have to worry about wrangling/feeding goats by then. Thank you to the Rebars and Wendy McNiven for your help in finding an ideal situation for them.
I will miss them like crazy, but I have to re-home them. I certainly can’t take them with me to Costa Rica! And Jackie wants us to reconfigure the goat pasture into a larger hen pasture and she so she can collect eggs more easily and so they’ll have more running room.
We’ll get ‘er done before I leave here, for sure.
