Working on an Intro Page Today

Today’s only photo:

today during my morning walk

After walking 7000+ steps first thing this morning and ordering this week’s groceries online, I began working on an introduction page for Jon Graham Mitchell which will go on the Rainbow Refuge website when it’s ready. I reached out to a number of people who have used his immigration coaching services from start to finish to gather testimonials for it.

While I await the return of their testimonials, I wrote my own for him based on the immigration-related services he has provided to me since I arrived here two months ago.  (Yes, it’s glowing, and probably too long!)

I’ve already gleaned some photos of Jon, Francisco, Dale, Clarkie, Dani, Melaney and Laurie from my photo archives and asked for  an additional one from the one of the people who will be writing a testimonial for him — the one I haven’t met yet and taken a picture of. I will meet her this week when we have lunch together.  The photos I have are place-holders for now: if the folks have better ones that they want me to use, I will swap them out.

This is the first time I’ve used my writing skills for anything other than  this blog post in over two years, ever since far too many struggling business owners adopted AI as their preferred copy and content writers. It felt really good to be writing “professionally” again!

After I got a  draft of the page kicked into fair enough shape to send to Jon for his comments and additional input, I placed ribs into the crock pot to cook and then walked to the mini mart to get a big bottle of root beer and a small carton of neapolitan ice cream. So, as of right now, I’ve taken 9,528 steps today.  I doubt I’ll add enough to make it to 10K.  This casita is so small, I don’t see any way to achieve that unless I jog in place, and I’m doing my best to preserve my knees for hill climbing, so I think I’ll just call it a day when it comes to additional exercise!

Lisa Will Be Staying a Full Week When She Flies Down in 2026

I talked Lisa into booking a nine day trip instead of a seven day trip so we will have a full week together to explore some of Costa Rica’s nearest attractions and still have plenty of down time for her to rest, relax and recover. Flight days will consume the other two days.

I know Lisa will want to see the iguanas at the feria and visit the animal rescue center in Alajuela. Jon says he will drive us to Alajuela for that. It isn’t very far away.

I know another driver who will to take us further afield if Lisa wants to visit La Fortuna, the Poas volcano, or anything else that floats her boat. She may even want to go to la playa one day.  (That’ll be a HOT adventure, but I’m willing if she wants to do it.  It will probably be the only day I’ll ever see the beach.)

I plan to ride with the driver to the San Jose Airport to pick her up and to take her back at the end of the visit. I want to spend every moment with her while she’s on Costa Rica soil (or tires)!  It will be a long time before we’ll be able to get together again.

I guess that’s all the news that’s fit to print for today other than HURRAY FOR THE BLUE WAVE that just happened across the U.S. yesterday. I have HOPE today that we’re seeing widespread evidence that the T-Wrecks fever is breaking and that even Republican voters are turning out to say, “ENOUGH IS FUCKING ENOUGH!”

The sense of relief I feel tonight is enormous! YAY, VOTERS! YOU ARE WHO AND WHAT IS REQUIRED TO DEFEAT THE FASCIST PLOT TO END U.S. DEMOCRACY AND YOU’RE DOING IT!!!  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
