Here’ s my prediction: The voters who voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020 will vote for them again this year, and the vast majority of voters who aren’t in Trump’s cult base will join them.
- Since 2020, we’ve witnessed the attempted coup at our nation’s Capitol, inspired and promoted by Donald Trump from the White House.
- Since 2020, Trump has been convicted of sexual assault and 34 felony counts by juries of his peers.
- Since 2020, Trump has been indicted in several other, as-yet-unresolved cases of felony political malpractice, including absconding with top secret documents, calling Secretaries of State in several states to “find” additional votes in his favor, and of encouraging and endorsing his operatives’ false slate of electors to intervene with official proceedings.
- Since 2020, Trump’s sycophants at the Heritage Foundation have created and published Project 2025 (which Trump is trying to re-brand as Agenda 47) and the GOP has published its 2024 platform for all to read and ponder.
The American people are diametrically opposed to all of the above, by large majorities.
In the few weeks since the debate “debacle” heartfelt support for Joe Biden has increased among regular voters.
His rallies are big, boisterous and resilient. They love Joe as a human being. Let him stutter, stumble, fumble or falter — as we all do from time to time — and they’ll wait for him to get back up, because he always does. And because they allow him to be human and older, like so many of their beloved elders who are heading toward the tail end of their long lives with as much dignity and respect as they are owed by their younger family members, friends, and loved ones. They recognize his decency and his accrued wisdom. They realize what he has done for the country and the world so far, as Congressman, Senator, VP and as POTUS, and they have every confidence that he will continue to fight for what’s right, because he has always been prompted by the better angels of human nature.
Trump’s numbers remain about the same post-debate
Very few people, even in his own cult, love Trump as a human being. They know Trump and his sycophants will turn their vitriol and violence on them if they don’t revere him and parrot his madness word-for-word. The have seen him throw everybody under the bus as soon as they are no longer useful or obedient to him.
They may well be in awe of his power, but his power (especially given the recent Supreme Court ruling about a president’s assumed immunity for “official POTUS actions”) also scares them. AS IT SHOULD, SINCE HE ONLY CARES ABOUT HIMSELF. He said it himself: “I don’t care about you. I just want your vote. I don’t care.”
YES, IT WAS A HORRIBLE THING TO SAY. BECAUSE HE MEANT IT. IT WAS NO JOKE, even though he tried to pass it off as one immediately in self-defense.
What kind of fucked-up jokester would even imagine saying that to his supporters? Can you imagine any other politician thinking it was a clever thing to say in front of his crowds? THE ONLY ONE WHO WOULD IS THE SAME SICKO WHO SAID HE COULD SHOOT SOMEONE ON 5TH AVENUE IN BROAD DAYLIGHT AND GET AWAY WITH IT.
The guy has no mute button in his brain; he just spills out whatever he’s thinking. Here are a few examples.

Yeah. When the choice is between an elderly statesman who has served his country and the world for nearly 50 years, whose only “downside” is an occasional stutter and an occasional mixing up of names and a documented menace to democracy, I think the people are going to decide to stick with what they have now when they look back and remember what they had and how they felt every single day Trump was in office.
