In the next three EVER NEW podcasts, Hannah and I will be welcoming three special guests, one of them a returnee: AMY ULEN.
First up on the upcoming EVER NEW podcast this Saturday, January 14th, Heidi Smith (no relation) will be visiting with us from her sister Mary’s “Elf Den” in Renton (a converted two car garage), where she will show us around and preview some of the holiday treasures that she and Mary make for their small business “Christmas Revisited”, which you can find here on Facebook. Here is an image that will bring a smile to Doctor McCoy fans:

Heidi will also be sharing her “big feels” about staging and posting my DeForest Kelley Collection of action figures, commemorative, plates and clothing to ebay. She and her husband Jim are big StarTrek fans, and they are old hats at ebay, so I asked them to handle the auction aspect, and they are doing a magnificent job. I expect we’ll spend about an hour with Heidi. After that, if viewers/listeners still want to hang with us, I will read another excerpt or two from DeForest Kelley Up Close and Personal: A Harvest of Memories from the Fan Who Knew Him Best.
Then, on January 28th my friend, Jay Brower — Bethel School District’s amazing advocate, promoter, and inspiration for all things academic, challenging and daring — will join Hannah and me to share a great many of his best photos (it was hard choosing which images are his “best” since he’s an amazing photographer, too!) and stories about being a mountaineer, wing walker, hiker, biker, and more. You won’t want to miss it! He’s an engaging guy, with engaging insights and anecdotes.

Our third special guest, AMY ULEN, will appear on February 11th for the fourth time since EVER NEW debuted last January. As you’ll recall, Amy has a cornucopia of stories to tell about the experiences she has had in the StarTrek universe, including appearing as The Teacher (as a Vulcan) in STAR TREK: OF GODS AND MEN.
Four visits still won’t be enough, and she has agreed to hop in upon occasion throughout 2023 to keep us spellbound with more anecdotes of her amazing times among various generations of Star Trek series and movies. And she has just been named to the Advisory Board of the new Nichelle Nichols Foundation, so you will want to hear about that, too, I’m sure.
