This coming week, I’ll be celebrating two personal anniversaries.
On March 4th I will be celebrating six months of living in Costa Rica.
On March 5th I will be celebrating my 75th trip around the sun
(aka a milestone 75th birthday)
Any plans? NADA! Just do what I usually do every day: walk in the morning on both days followed by whatever!
Or, maybe I’ll catch the bus into town on one of those days and buy a new pair of tennis shoes. Have a Subway sandwich. Those would be “celebratory” (out of the ordinary) things to do.
OR, maybe I’ll even have my very first Churchill! I’ve been hearing about these dessert delights ever since November when Jon and I volunteered to speak English with Spanish-speaking students so it’s high time I actually had one!
I already celebrated my 75th by having Lisa here a couple weeks ago
*sigh* That was a huge treat! (Airfare prices rise sharply between mid-Feb and early Mar, so she came when it was most affordable.)
I received a super deluxe set of Mexican Trains from her, too, which I haven’t played yet with anyone here. Dale knows how to play it, so maybe he, Crystal and I will play that in the near future.
I rarely have any kind of plans. Don’t need them; I’m retired! The only thing on my calendar for March (so far) are Friday feria days with lunch following and another INR blood draw at the end of the month. I also need to get Charli some flea and tick goop for the back of her neck since I just used the last vial that I bought before coming here in Sept. I can get that any time I’m in town at ExoPlanet.
Of course, I’ll also dart into town weekly (probably mid-week) to get the groceries that I can’t get at the feria — and cat food.
Bought three more under/T-shirts yesterday
I got another white one, a black one, and a brownish grey one at Huracan. Now I have all the zippered shorts and enough undershirts to keep me happy. I’m darned easy to please!
Toying with the idea of getting a larger cart
…like the black one Dale has, but I wonder if I do that if I’ll end up loading it so heavily that I can’t lift it onto the bus! Probably not. I just have to remember to buy 12-package rolls of toilet paper or something else light so I CAN’T overload it weight-wise.
The larger cart has a metal base that’s wider, so I could bungee my large Winco freezer bag onto it, which would be mighty handy! I tried putting it on the present cart and it was a bad idea. My poor cart just couldn’t operate well with it attached. (I told Crystal that if I do get one, I will give her my smaller one. She likes it.)
It’s warm here today!
Just had to close the curtains and turn on two fans. It’s fine now. It doesn’t take a lot to cool it down, but I’m glad to have the fans handy!
I’m thawing a piece of ham so I can cut it into chunks, heat it up and put it into my rice concoction for dinner in a couple hours.
There isn’t much else to report so I’ll shut up again. I only wrote this because I turned the pages on my calendars and found two anniversaries staring me in the face! The rest was just stream-of-consciousness palaver … not worth spit! LOL!
