Today I took the files I need to keep (tax returns for the past even years among them), placed them in a smaller filing cabinet, and put the filing cabinet in a new location outside my abode.
Then I rifled through the remaining filed stuff and shredded what needed shredding (ancient tax returns, etc.), which took almost half a day. I have a cheap shredder that overheats if I use it more than 45 minutes at a time, so I had to take several breaks, but I finally got it all done. The resulting shredded paper takes up half of the large recycle bin and then some, so I also filled two large plastic bins with shredded paper. I’ll throw them into the recycle bin between now and the time I leave.
I also moved the antique dresser (which I’m asking $135 for, and am giving to a friend if I don’t get that much for it) into the garage and moved the entertainment center to the back patio. It’s very heavy and too much trouble to get to the front of the house. Whoever buys it can drive to the side of the house so we can load it out from there.
Now my home really looks bare!
When the futon and overstuffed chair leave the living room — hopefully sometime this week or next — the living room room will be empty because I think I have a buyer for Dad’s credenza.
I still need to find a home for my 55-gallon aquarium.
I’ve found a home for the fish and aquatic frogs already. They will go on Thursday or Monday.
Walked 7905 steps so far today
It’s amazing how far I’m walking without “going for a walk” these days. This “getting ready to move” activity requires footsteps! It’s all good! My goal is 8K steps a day. I’ve exceeded that so often recently that I’m waaaaayyy ahead of the game.
But now I’m exhausted again. I will sleep well tonight, for sure!
I hope you do, too!
