Today Donald Trump’s first criminal trial begins.
I’m not getting popcorn ready.
I’m not salivating.
I’m waiting to see how the mainstream media (MSM) covers it.
Because if the mainstream media just plays sound bites of DJT’s shenanigans and verbal denials and accusations, it isn’t doing its job! It’s going for spectacle instead of substance.
MSM needs to be reporting on the substance of the charges and on the testimonies taken under oath. It needs to reveal to the general population WHY the facts and allegations should matter to them as citizens of America.
One of those reasons is that the Stormy Daniels hush money payments were the first of Trump’s numerous attempts to steal the election under false pretenses for himself. He didn’t want his dirty laundry aired, especially on the heels of the interview where he proclaimed, ““I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. When you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything.”
(If that were the case — female willingness –why did he have to pay a porn star/sex worker up front, and then pay her again to shut her up from divulging their transaction?)
Before this event, and after, more than 16 women came forward to accuse Trump of rape or attempted rape, one or more of them teenagers allegedly delivered to him by Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein died in prison, and his compatrot, Ghislaine Maxwell, is spending her next decades behind bars for her role in procuring young girls for illegal purposes.
The man is a menace. He has always been a menace. He knows no other way of being in the world. He truly believes that the world and all of its living, human “playthings” and financial potential are his for the taking (looting). He has no moral compass at all. He lies most of the time except when he accidentally tells the truth (which usually shoots him in the foot).
The proclaimed “fact” by some pollsters (Republican-leaning) that he is leading Joe Biden in the polls is a sign that the facts and truth of Trump’s depravity aren’t being broadcasted by mainstream media. MSM focuses on his rabid denials, not on the substance of his alleged transgressions. I use “alleged” here because he has not been convicted — he has just been accused (his actions alleged and found substantive enough to require a trial).
Back in the day, no one would focus almost exclusively on Charles Manson’s denials, or Richard Nixon’s. Mainstream media did their duty as watchdogs — relayers of facts, not purveyors of propaganda.
MSM needs to return to that ethos before it’s too late.
On November 6th, it will be too late.
They need to do it NOW!
