The Cure: #SVFAP

April 1, 2023

The cure for what ails America (and much of the rest of the world) is available, and it’s in citizens’ hands: #SVFAP.

Stop Voting for Atrocious People!

They’re easy to spot. They’re loud, obnoxious, bigoted, insecure, frightened of “others” who do not share their narrow, bigoted mindsets, and they want stratified classes of people and special privileges that they work diligently to deny to the rest of humanity. They want exclusive use of their catbirds’ seat and armed sycophants to keep others from reaching it.

HOW TO IDENTIFY THE STINKERS

Atrocious People don’t care about anyone or anything that doesn’t directly affect their personal or professional lives. And they want to control how others experience, interpret, navigate,  and live their own lives.

To an atrocious person’s mind, “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” — including personal and financial security — is exclusively reserved for their pleasures (the guiltier the pleasures, the better).  The laws they pass are designed to benefit them even as they marginalize or exclude others.

Human rights, voting rights, women’s rights, animal welfare, ecological welfare —

it’s all on the chopping block if it prevents them from sitting in the Swanky Elite Seats from on high.

NAMING NAMES

Here are a few names, past and present: McConnell. The Former Guy. Boebert. Greene. Joseph McCarthy. David Duke. Ted Cruz. Every man and woman in Congress (144 of them, all Atrocious GOP members!) who voted not to confirm Biden’s election. Joe Manchin. Krysten Sinema. All far-right, puritanical, Constitution-averse, Christian evangelical operatives in government at every level, from school boards to the Oval Office (immediate Past Atrocious Person and Present Leading Contender to Get There Again in 2024).

These are all political operatives who work to keep the vast majority of Americans who don’t embrace their worldview in some kind of chains: low-income, low-information, substandard housing in substandard neighborhoods. They only feel good about themselves when they can look down on and suppress the living conditions of somebody else. “Mansions for me, mud huts and misery for you.”

Other nations’ Terrorist List, past and present: Adolf Hitler.  Mussolini. Stalin. Putin. Bolisario. Caligula. Mao Tsetung. North Korea’s leaders, past and present.

It Doesn’t Have to Be This Way

For now, and for a little while longer (unless the Atrocious People get back in again in lofty enough offices to send representative democracy into the ashheap of history), we still have the power and the fucking RESPONSIBILITY as citizens to carefully assess the mindsets of the people running for offices across the land. And lots of undaunted, compassionate, fair-minded, bigotry-free people have the ability and the energy to run for offices where Atrocious People run unchallenged so the voting public has an alternative  candidate to vote for.

Citizenship is not a spectator sport.

Representative democracy is under protracted, organized attack.

If you’re alive and breathing, you need to pay attention, register to vote if you haven’t been, and stand up for decency, diversity and truly representative democracy. We haven’t had it yet in this nation, and that’s simply because too many good people have sat on the sidelines on their voting hands instead of investing time finding out where the cat crapped in the buckwheat so they could vote to clean it out.

Atrocious People are Crapping on our Country.

VOTE THEM OUT!
