The coming weeks’ preflight agenda includes:
This coming week
Monday Aug 18: call Consumer Cellular to have my phone unblocked for international travel to CR; find out about blocking roaming charges after Sept 4th and (maybe) ending service
Tuesday Aug 19: drive to Rochester (WA) to sign my last will and testament and POA documents; deliver the futon to Laurel
Wednesday Aug 20 and Thursday, Aug 21: Call Safeway to see if the 2025 flu shots are in yet; if so, go get one; if not, get a shot at Walgreen’s … and pay $100 (frown).
Wednesday (and/or Thursday): Move big recliner and recliner-side cabinet to Doug’s place, filing cabinet and storage rack to Lisa’s.
Wednesday August 20 evening: farewell dinner at Yen Ching with Bohemia Isis Smith. Remember to give her the screws for the mirror of the antique dresser that she picked up a couple days ago. (They’re already in my pocket so I don’t forget them.)
Next week’s agenda
Sunday August 24th at 4 pm: Charli’s mobile vet appointment for exam, shot, microchip implant, travel papers processing and copies
Wednesday August 27th last finger poke at coumadin clinic to see if my INR level came up
Final few days’ agenda, September 1-3 : hang with Lisa as much as possible. I’m going to try to get permission to have her come sit with Charli and me at the departure gate until I get on the plane.
As for today and tomorrow…
I’ve already walked (it’s 9 a.m. now) and I’m drinking water.
I’m waiting to fill out some papers from my credit union and 401K provider whenever they arrive. My legal beagle sis says I need a backup to my primary beneficiary on those accounts, and I need to take printouts to her on Tuesday when I go in to sign my will and POA docs.
I need to sign a doc about the timing of the disposition of this home and property should Jackie or I die before it is sold in two or three years.
Gads, all this finalization stuff is mind-numbing. But there isn’t much left, and then I can veg again until I fly away in just 18 days!
