Today’s the day! I get my temporary front tooth today. WOO HOO!!!
If I’m totally pleased with it aesthetically, in four to six weeks I will get the permanent one placed. I’m super excited. It has been a year-long process and I’m looking forward to getting rid of this flipper (temporary denture) because it takes up so much of my upper palate. My pronunciation suffers a little bit whenever I wear it, and I have to remove it to eat or I can’t taste anything, and stuff gets trapped underneath.
So, yeah, having an implant there will make a huge difference…
Patches’ Bloodwork Came Back Looking Great
Patches’ bloodwork came back. It looks so good that Dr. Bob said I can take her off the thyroid medicine for a month to see if she stays within range. She can drop a bunch of numbers and still be within range.
He feels pretty confident that she will be able to remain off the meds for the rest of her life. That would be great.
She doesn’t fight me when I give her the pill because I dissolve it in hot water and mix it with human baby food, which she laps right up. But the baby food has gone from 79 cents per tiny jar to $1.49 per jar, and I’ve been scandalalized by that. (How can people afford children in this day and age?!) I’ve been lucky because it takes Patches three to four days to finish a small jar, but still… the moolah adds up, and I’m glad I won’t have to be buying human baby food anymore!
My Internet Connection Stopped Working for a While This Morning
I freaked out because our podcast EVER NEW is scheduled for tomorrow and I will be away from home most of the day today. My sister, niece and nephew will be here all day, so I could have called a technician in because they could let them in, BUT I didn’t want to have to get a technician in if it wasn’t necessary. I couldn’t reach CenturyLink without an Internet connection, and trying to reach them by phone takes Herculean effort, so I was feeling pretty miserable. I ran a diagnostics test (three times) and was told, finally, that my modem had quit working. I turned it off, reset it twice. Still no dice. And then, all of a sudden, it started working again.
This has happened before. I always wonder if CenturyLink is working on power lines nearby when it happens, but at 3:30 a.m.?! That didn’t seem right. Anyway, I’m back in business again. Good thing, because one of my clients wants me to work on a new sales page, which I will probably have to do over the weekend (if he’s in a rush for it) because I will be in Seattle most of today. Thankfully, I don’t think he’s in a huge rush for it…
What else?
I had a whee of a time yesterday video visiting with Helen Schofield and Debora Davies in New Zealand. They’re cooking up things for us todo when I get there next year. I got to watch Deborah transform into an Irish lass before my eyes as she told me about her experiences as a tour guide at a local venue where people can experience what it was like to live in NZ in the late 1800’s as an Irish immigrant.
