I’ve just learned that white men comprise just 30% of the U.S. population. 

So why are they calling all the shots politically?

 

It’s because they designed this system of government as a bulwark to protect white, land-and-property-owning white men. (A bulwark is something that protects you from potentially dangerous or unpleasant situations. Example: Losing one’s apex position/power in a society.)

 

I’m not making this up. Remember, when this nation was created, wives and “others” (all non-white individuals) were considered property or indentured servants. We were not agents of our own lives and destinies. And ever since then, there has been a constant effort to maintain that status quo.

 

It has been the constant drumbeat by a multitude of underserved and aggrieved individuals which has inched us closer to equity

 

And the current powers that be don’t like that. 

 

So they’re throwing everything they can think of against the wall to see how much of it sticks.

 

And we can’t let them do that anymore. They (the white men in power and the handmaids who support them) are completely off the rails these days, looking to subjugate us backward to a time when we had zero say in our destinies.  And again, they are the minority!  They should NOT be calling the shots.

 

They should not be legislating what women can do with their own bodies.

 

They should not be disappearing people off the street without due process.

 

They should not be terrorizing the people who disagree with their fascist agenda.

 

They should not be trying to end birthright citizenship, or emasculating Congress, or threatening judges who take them to task for their predations.

 

They shouldn’t be in power at all, because to them power means control, not service. 

 

One of our government’s founding documents mentions “providing for the common defense and welfare” of we the people.  Yeah, the author of this remarkable document meant white property owning men when he wrote that, but we have evolved to understand that every sentient human being has identical interest is being considered equal under U.S. law as more and more people were allowed (or insisted upon) an adequate education so we can be the masters of our own fates.

 

The GOP has abdicated its responsibility to evolve with the times and with our people.  They’re trapped in a misogynistic, racist mindset that keeps them from seeing the humanity in shackled children, disenfranchised voters, migrant workers, and working women.

 

As Kevin Roberts, one of the the authors of Project 2025 stated, “In spite of all this nonsense from the left, we are going to win. We’re in the process of taking this country back. We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless, if the left allows it to be.”

 

Those are fighting words. That is a threat.

 

The meaning is, “Roll over and play dead — or you will wind up in a world of hurt.”

 

And here we are hurting, because of a small powerful subset of 30% of the U.S. population.

 

There are a helluva lot more of us than there are of them.

 

To change the trajectory of this current situation, make yourself known!

And on another note…

 

I had a particularly upsetting night last night. Tossed and turned over a matter that needs to be resolved and put to bed within four weeks so I can dedicate the last two weeks to packing up and getting Charli examined by a vet and certified as ready to fly without having to think anymore about any other issues…

 

After I finally managed to fall asleep, my Southern California “dad” and mentor DeForest Kelley came to me in a dream.

 

It was not the usual father/daughter father/son vibe.

 

It started out that he was hiding behind a door frame next to me.  The door was open. When I noticed movement, I looked and spotted him.  He had what was obviously a toy gun in his hand, but he was smiling mischievously.

 

My facial expression inquired, “What’s up?” and he came to me and …well… I’m trans… but … he made love to me.

 

I felt soooo much love!

 

Gads, if that’s the kind of dream response that being morbidly upset gets me, send me some more mountains to climb!!! LOL!

 

(That last line was a joke. Please DON’T! I have enough mountains to climb between now and September!)

 

P.S. I have never before had a lovemaking dream about De.  (I have almost never had a lovemaking dream, period, since I’m celibate, perhaps even ace.)
