SNEAK PEEK TEASER

February 9, 2022

I’m on the cusp of being able to make a very big announcement about a book I wrote, DeForest Kelley Up Close and Personal: A Harvest of Memories from the Fan Who Knew Him Best

(No, the movie rights haven’t been purchased, but if anyone is interested in doing so, hit me up with an offer!)

I can give you this much of a hint now: it’s on the calendar to be published in a foreign language as early as this coming June as long as the translation checker at the firm okays the translation as written, which is a foregone conclusion, IMO. I know who did the original translation, and he has been diligently working on it for years,  painstakingly going through my idiomatic way of writing to get as close to a perfect rendition as it’s possible to get.

I have utmost faith in him. He was, and is, an avid DeForest Kelley fan (with whom De corresponded; his story appears in my book THE ENDURING LEGACY OF DeFOREST KELLEY: ACTOR, HEALER, FRIEND) and he loved the book the moment he read it in English.

No, I am not divulging his name at this time, but he will be a future guest on my podcast EVER NEW as the date of publication nears, as will the publisher. They are both fluent in English. (I wish I could say the same about being fluent in their language. Alas, I cannot!)

And… that’s all I can say until the February 26th edition of my podcast (at the earliest), which happens every other Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Pacific time.  The next edition is this coming Saturday, February 12th, just two days before Valentine’s Day.

READ THE BOOK NOW

In the meantime, those of you who read and speak English and have not yet had a chance to get the book — and just in time for Valentine’s Day — I’m listing URLs to it and to my other Kelley titles, so you can get your hands on a copy of whichever one(s) resonate with you most.  But I highly recommend that you start with UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL, since it has been tapped as worthy of translation into another language.

In Other News…

I had something else to announce that wasn’t quite as monumental as what’s above, but it has slipped my mind at the moment. Dang, I hate when that happens! When it occurs to me again, I will log back on and announce it.

I had to replace my Samsung TV flat panel screen  this week because the old one kept freezing on me, despite updating the software and doing everything else I could think of to make it behave.  But fortunately Best Buy was running specials on 32″ flat panel TV’s this week so I snagged a really nice, hi def one for $179 and taxes. It has amazing sound and color, so I’ve been catching up on some movies I’ve wanted to see that had been freezing up on me. The new one works fast, without a  hitch, and its remote is Alexa enabled and lightning fast, which is another huge upgrade from the old one. I’m ecstatic!

The weather has modified so I’m out walking 10K steps daily again.  It feels so good to be able to to that. I miss it when I can’t.
