I slept outside last night. The experience was heavenly. I look forward to doing it a lot this summer and early fall.
Anecdotal evidence suggests that grounding is good for the body, spirit and soul, which makes perfect sense to me! I always feel better when I’m outdoors during pleasant days and nights. Fresh air and sounds of nature rejuvenate me.
This was last night’s set up — a mosquito and bug-free netted tent.
Worked like a charm!
I have ordered a waterproof mattress cover so I can encase the above foam bedding in it and sleep atop it from now on instead of on the anti-gravity recliner — or maybe in addition to it — because I want to be on the ground as much a possible (comfortably).
I found the foam bedding (looking pristine) beside the road two months ago (I left it there for a day to be sure it wouldn’t be reclaimed) and have been washing and drying it in the sun outdoors to make sure it’s as clean as possible. It looked pristine but smelled a little weird when I found it. A scent test this morning indicates it’s fine now, but I will encase it in a waterproof mattress anyway just to be extra sure before I sleep on it.
I also have a six-person Coleman tent (as mentioned yesterday) that I have yet to open and set up. I may do that this week, just for ducks, to see what it looks like up close and personal, but I think I will prefer the mosquito net one for star-gazing, if we need mosquito-proofing that night.
FITBIT FITS
My Fitbit says I only slept five hours, which can’t be true. Maybe five hours after midnight, but not altogether. I slept like a contented baby in my wearable sleeping bag.
Only got up once in the night to visit the bathroom.
Charli and Miss Kitty sat outside the tent most of the night, not wanting in (I offered). Patches’ nose was out of joint this morning because I didn’t sleep with her in our usual bed, of course. She’s my usual nightly pillow partner.
Next time I stay out I might have Jackie’s dog Hope with me. Not sure I will, but she might! She’s still being potty trained, and I don’t want pup pee in my tent, just pup!
In Other News…
Listeners are “aw, shucks”-ing my announcement that there will be no more new regular EVER NEW episodes after August 5th (when our special guest will be Phil Weyland, who directed De in a play in Lubbbok texas in 1974 and was his stand-in during some of the TREK motion pictures; Phil also appeared in some of them). But I already have massive international interest in doing a one off (or more) around transgender issues, so I’m looking for guests who want to weigh in on that — trans guests, allies, and people with legitimate, unbigoted mindsets who have questions they would like answered from a variety of trans perspectives. If you’d like to be a guest, or to be notified when we get our ducks in a row and have a definite date, let me know at krisATwordwhispererDOTnet. Thanks!
