Sitting Here Wanting to Write

August 25, 2025

I’ve been sitting here for almost an hour wanting to write, but all I can think of to write about is GET ME OUTTA HERE!

Yeah, I’m ready!

I’m SOOOO ready!

I’ve walked 12,333 Steps Today So Far

I have two modes right now: write or walk.

I can’t move the remaining furniture yet, so that’s out as a task.

I can’t walk with my friend Sue until tomorrow morning…

I can’t talk to my insurance broker until tomorrow afternoon

Or have my final farewell meal with Bohemia until tomorrow evening…

Or get my finger poked at the coumadin clinic until Wednesday…

Or have my final farewell lunch with Yolanda until Sunday (because she’s on an Alaskan cruise until Saturday)…

Or hang with Lisa until Mon-Tues-Wed of next week unless she can free up some time on Wednesday …

I Have all this Get Up and Go — and I’m STUCK treading water!

It’s too hot to go sit with Charli outside this afternoon. She enjoys frying. I don’t, and it’s close to 95 degrees outside right now.

GRRR!  I’m frustrated!

Can you tell???!

Some Fun News

The first weekend I’ll be in Grecia, so will a good friend of my best friend Lisa. He has reserved a hotel room at Villas Escondidas, too, for Friday and Saturday.

I have met him once oh so briefly at one of his parents’ parties (when Danny Vernon entertained us as Elvis). I know his parents pretty well — we belonged to the same networking group for a time — but it’s funny that I’ll be getting to know him better just because we’re both going to be in Grecia Costa Rica at the exact same time.

The difference in our agendas is that he’s flying there to check out the country as a potential eventual retirement destination, and I’ve already decided that it’s mine. He’s younger than springtime compared to me. I don’t expect to live long enough to welcome him upon his retirement, so I’ll do my best to welcome him NOW, well in advance.

He has sent me some great YouTube links to help me learn conversational Spanish.  I checked them out and he’s right — they are fabulous!

They’re complementary sites: Spanish with Paul helps learners create sentences; Dreaming Spanish is for Listening/Immersion at night, passively while learners fall asleep…
He also sent me this link: What If Colombia Didn’t Exist? – Beginner Spanish, a video narrated by Shel from Colombia. She is wonderfully expressive so she’s easy to follow and (mostly!) understand even when you don’t know all of the words.
I will be visiting them frequently after I get down there.  I want to become as fluent as possible as fast as I can, and I can see how these links can help achieve that.
Heck, I may even start them in between walking and writing.  That would give me something to do beside twiddle my thumbs and count the days!
Great idea, as long as I don’t lose track of time/days and start missing any of my previously scheduled “dates”!!!
