Picked up my new Frigidaire today. Wendy and Jackie helped me change the door from right-opening to left-opening, which was quite the challenge.
I started out doing it alone but after a while realized I was going to need help figuring out some of the directions, although they sounded straightforward enough until I reached task #16 or so.
It’s slowly getting up to speed. I should be able to put my groceries and frozen foods in it later tonight or tomorrow morning. Right now they’re in Jackie’s fridge and freezer in the garage.
The fellow at the loading dock told me I didn’t need to wait 24 hours to plug it in; that I only had to wait twice the length of time that it laid on its side while being transported here (which was all of 20 minutes). Even so, it was three+ hours before I plugged it in. Changing the door from right-opening to left-opening took well over 90 minutes. And before that, I had to drive to Puyallup for an appointment that ended up not happening, so that was an additional hour of the fridge sitting upright before we tackled the door.
It’s a pretty fridge. It’s a bit little shorter than the other one was, but that’s good. It has no visible scratches or dings on the door, and just a little scratch and ding on one side. T’was a great buy for $399! Unscratched/dinged, it would have sold for over $800. I’m very satisfied both with it and with the company I bought it from, Albert Lee Appliances in Tacoma.
