My Flight to Costa Rica is Scheduled, Charli’s Vet Visit is Scheduled

July 18, 2025

My flight is scheduled! I’ll leave Sept 3rd in the evening and arrive Sept 4th at 7:15 a.m. It cost $1127.++  I will only be allowed three boxes measurements not to exceed 42 lineal inches.  (That’s pretty darned small, 14″ x 14″ x 14″)  Shipping is exorbitant so I will have to wait for Lisa to fly down in March to bring more stuff. I will have to pack verrrrryyyyy strategically and will probably need to buy a new laptop if I can’t find a good used one.

Charli’s vet visit with Dr. Byrd (great name for a vet, eh wot???) is scheduled for August 24th at 4 p.m., exactly ten days prior to the flight. Perfect!  That will cost $471 for the exam, the combo shot, the microchip, the mobile vet visit and the approved paperwork. Her spot at my feet will cost $150. (Why?  I already paid for the spot beneath my feet when I booked MY flight!)

Visited the Consumer Cellular store again this morning to have the store manager Geton link my translation devices to the new phone.  While I was there, I wrote yet another glowing review for use on their website.

Visited Katheryn Evans this afternoon to get some health insurance coverage underway. I was there for two hours. She is very thorough and methodical — that’s why I trust her to the moon and back. MediSmart will be part of the plan, for sure.  We were on the phone to Costa Rica for almost 90 minutes total ironing out options for me with the folks at Hospital Metropolitano.  Great people down there!

Walked this morning again, as I do nearly every day. So I’ve put in 7048 steps so far today. It’s 4:08 pm now.

Tomorrow is Garage Sale Day from noon to 6 p.m.

We just to kick the garage into shape for the items that will remain inside it. So now I’m up to 9546 steps for the day!

We’re gonna be up early setting up the balance on the front yard.  I’m tired already just thinking about it.

But boy howdy do I need the money, since I had to upgrade my phone ($247) before getting to CR and since I will probably have to buy a laptop (up to $500) since the linear footage I’m allowed on the plane is so skimpy. Neither of my monitors will fit into anything that small….  GRRRR!

I’m going to be garage sale-ing a whole lot of things I didn’t expect to because they simply won’t fit into the space allotted me on the plane. It would take two or three additional trips from Sea-Tac to get it all down there over time, and shipping it wouldn’t be worth the price. So I either have to do without or buy it there over time.

Whatever works!

I’m exhausted!
