This morning I ate a piece of toast (pan frito??? pan tostada? must look this up) with an egg (huevo) on it. Drank a cup of hot chocolate, too. Yummy, and quite enough!
I met VE’s custodian (she speaks less English than I do Spanish, but we did fine communicating) and visited for a short time with Gayle from Salt Lake City, Utah, who also arrived yesterday.
I tried to get Charli to step out the front door but she was too hesitant still. A few people are milling around and talking, so that’s what has her hesitating.
The resident cat, Fiskar, has no such hesitancy. He is the feline goodwill ambassador for this place. He’s orange and fluffy and with me almost every moment I’m outside and within his range/territory, which is the central meeting place (and pool) for residents and guests,
He cuddled up to me this morning as I ate the toast and egg, so of course he got a taste of the yellow part, much to his delight.
I greeted Melaney and Laurie briefly as they arose this morning. Melaney greeted Gayle and me with, “Welcome, family!” *sigh*
Last night Melaney explained her vision for Rainbow Refuge in San Ramon and it matches my list of particulars, too. The cabanas that exist are two bedroom cabanas — the perfect size for me, as I want to be able to welcome visitors by providing them their own sanctuary space at night when they fly in from various parts of the globe. She says she wants to to be a safe haven for LGBT+ individuals, couples and their allies who visit. PERFECT!
She says the 14 acres are “raw” and need to be perma-culture crafted. I mentioned again (but to her for probably the first time) that I’m handy with tools and have raised hens for their egg-producing capabilities (which they’re considering getting) and lots of other farmyard critters.
I want to apply as the RR San Ramon groundskeeper as long as it doesn’t require more than fifteen to 20 hours of work per week in exchange for a partial (or total) reduction in rent for the cabina I’d be staying in…
We will be visiting the acreage this month. I’ve already seen some images and I’m in love. It’s in the cloud forest above San Ramon. Can’t wait to get there and look around.
The driver yesterday gave me a reference for the medical clinic in Grecia that does my INR (coagulacion del sangre) bloodwork. I’m pretty sure he called it Clinica Medico Sanchez, but I need to check to be sure. He says it’s not far from the world-renowned (metal) church in downtown Grecia. (Update: si!)
I need a CR SIM card to call and see if they require appointments (citas). Most likely, they do. I want to schedule one for two weeks from now since my INR level was still a little low last time is was checked on August 27th or 28th… But I feel fine and no leg swelling or other anomalies.
Here are some images I took yesterday. I don’t know why they’re so dark here. They’re light on my FB page! Go see them there if these frustrate you!
