I just got a new Samsung Galaxy X16 smartphone. My old one (an A12) was four years old and not holding a charge very well anymore. I hear electronics are wildly expensive in Costa Rica, so I bit the bullet and got one while I’m still here.
The Customer Service at Tacoma Consumer Cellular is FANTASTIC!
3202 S 23rd St Suite 6 (intersection of State Route 16 and S Union Ave),
Tacoma, WA 98405 or call (253) 452-4144.
My gosh, what a pleasure it was to meet the customer service agents at Consumer Cellular here in Tacoma. Aaliyah and Geton were wonderful, as was the gentleman who came from the back room some time later and offered me a fudgsicle while we waited for the stuff on my old phone to transfer to the new one.
Aaliyah and Geton and I had wonderful conversations; we’re very much on the same wavelength! It was one of the most delightful hours I have spent in quite some time! I highly recommend Consumer Cellular as a carrier and the Tacoma store as the go-t0 place for terrific service.
Tomorrow I meet with my health insurance “brainiac” Katheryn Evans
Tomorrow afternoon I meet with Strategic Sound Solutions broker Katheryn Evans in Puyallup to discuss my Part B Medicare options. I don’t want to stay with UHC if there’s a cheaper carrier, and I hear there’s a Medicare Advantage plan that works in a specific Costa Rica Hospital so I want to find out more about that.
Not that I’m all that hot on getting a Medicare Advantage plan, but if the only option and it’s less expensive than what I have now here in the States, I might go for it.
We’ll also discuss possible travel insurance health care. I want to find out if my Original Medicare will pay for some eventualities in CR until I am eligible to start paying into the CAJA system. I can drop Part B coverage as soon as that happens. I may drop it even sooner and just take my chances. I just want to learn what my options are…
And then this Saturday…
… is the first of my remaining two garage sales. I will be ecstatic to have those behind me by month’s end.
Every day I’m doing something more to bring me closer to adios day
I’m using my nervous energy to proactively get stuff done that needs doing between now and then, whatever I can do on this end to keep the ball rolling.
Crockpot Days
The last two days I’ve been cooking foods in my crockpot. Yesterday it was pork ribs. Today it’s chicken drumsticks. At the end of the cook cycle both times, I added barbecue sauce and broiled that atop them for about five minutes. I also sprinkled both meats with garlic salt, and that was all. YUM squared!
Guess that’s all the news that’s fit to print for now. It’s cooler here today, thankfully. I may attend the Good Trouble protest in Lakewood this afternoon, as a result. No guarantees, but right now my spirit is leaning in that direction! But my intuition/gut instinct is telling me that perhaps I should lay low for the rest of my time here, knowing how volatile the political situation is these days.
(Damn, I hate feeling that way, but it is what it is…)
