Jeez! What a Dream I Had Last Night!

Jeez! What a dream I had last night!

I think the new T-Wrecks Regime is making me paranoid — or prescient! (Hope it’s the former and not the latter!)

I’ve waited too long to recount it in its entirety, but here’s the gist of it.

I was with a fellow activist Democrat from the McGovern-Shriver Campaign era — a beloved fellow, tragically long since dead (at age 34) named Chuck Hickman.  In the dream, he and I found ourselves standing with a group of people who had applied for and been chosen to be flown to the moon and then back to our destinations (for me, to my new home in Costa Rica).

As we were standing there, Chuck said to me, “When I applied, I had no hope of getting the nod.”

I responded, “It was that way with me, too.”

He looked around at the group and said, “I wonder if it’s too late to bow out of going?”

I responded, “I don’t know.  They didn’t even give me a physical to see if my heart could take that three and a half minutes of crushing G forces…”

He said, “Me, either.” Then he said, “Wait a minute.”

He questioned the other people who had been chosen, asking them for their political views. Then he came back and said, “This is no random assembly. Every one of these people share our political views, and every one of them has been an activist for our various causes.”

I said, “I don’t think we’re meant to survive this trip. I think we’re on a mission that’s designed to fail.”

Chuck nodded. “That’s exactly what I think.”

That was the gist of it.  There was more to it than that, but those are the details I can still recall.  The dream involved the discovery of a nefarious plot to “Auschwitz” (incinerate) activists, advocates and others who don’t toe the white male supremacist/fascist line.

I woke up before we got on the rocket, but between Chuck’s last line (above) and my awakening, there was a lot of fear and serious, frightful pondering about how to get out of the line and away from the danger.

It really sucked.
