I’ve just experienced my most lucrative month ever as a writer-for-hire.
In just 70 working hours I netted over $10,000, and I’ve just landed another project for $1800 that should take six hours.
I charge $250/hour for sales copy, $250/hour for course writing, $100/hour for content writing (educational, informational, entertainment), and upward of $50/hour for copy and content editing.
This month’s projects have been mostly copy, content and course writing.
It feels wonderful.
Most of it has come from a long-term client, so there will be more where that came from. He’s delighted with the results he’s getting from what I write, and I love the topic, so it’s truly a win-win situation. I’m writing under an NDA so I can’t divulge who this client is, but he’s high profile, well regarded, and he has an enormous following. He’s very likely a multimillionaire. He’s no micromanager, either. He trusts me to do my job as well as he does his. That’s always a plus!
I’m feeling confident now that this good fortune will continue. I’m also feeling confident about my prices. When clients reach the realization that they get back a lot more than they pay a professional writer, they keep coming back. It’s pretty much a no-brainer.
Alas, a lot of people who hire writers think they can get great quality at pitiful prices. What they usually get is pitiful quality, so their money goes right down the drain. There’s a learning curve there! The sooner they figure it out, the sooner they can begin to prosper.
As will the writers they hire.
Win-Win!
