I think I have found my rental! It’s in San Ramon very close to Rainbow Refuge near where Dani and Georgia Hicks live. Jon Graham Mitchell spotted it for me on a rental site and forwarded it to me. I’m super excited about making sure it’s still available and finding out how soon I can move in if it is.

Update: It is and I will view it this coming Saturday at noon!

It’s unfurnished, but Mel and Laurie say they’ll give me a stove/oven and small fridge and that I can find the other items I will need on FB Marketplace or craigslist down here. There’s also a discount furniture store here that Margaret told me about.

If I decide on it I will take and share pictures as soon as I can. Probably Saturday!

Tonight I need to get all my paperwork in order for tomorrow’s trip to San Jose to change my status from turista to applicant for pensionado status.  We should be back by 9 a.m. if we get in at 7 a.m. and the process goes fast. And it should, since I will get a preferred seat since I’m officially VIEJO (old)!!  Viejo sounds a lot better than old, don’t you agree???

I am soooooo happy.  It will be a miracle if I can get into a permanent rental in under two weeks from arriving here, at a price that makes me giggly with joy.

Keep me in your thoughts. Prayers, good wishes, whatever it is you do for people you love and want to support, please do that!  I’ll accept all the bolstering I can get!

Oh! And the visit to the bank (two banks, actually) took about 30 minutes total, which Jon tells me is a near miracle.  The status change application deposits are made and my translator Angie Vargas has been paid, too.  It’s time to get back to Mas por Menos and get some more moolah to have on hand!

OR I could ask Laurie to unleash more of my stash.  Decisions, decisions!  Que sera, sera!
