I have nothing burning in my brain that I’m dying to say, but I want to write, so I will write and see what pops out! Sometimes I have to start writing to figure out what’s waiting to get out, so that’s what I’m doing now…
Dentist Tomorrow
Tomorrow I have my second to last (for a while) dental appointment in Seattle. This one is to have the gap measured so the abutment and crown maker for my missing tooth have what they need to give me a fully-toothed grin again. I’m very much looking forward to this year-long adventure being over. It will take eight to ten days to get the piece back, and then I will drive up again to have it placed. WHEE!!!!
After that, farther down the road time-wise, I will get another crown on a lower side tooth and then I should be A-OK dental-wise for several years, if not for the rest of my life.
Interview Tuesday
On Tuesday I have a ZOOM interview with a fellow named Rick from Daily Star Trek News (or Star Trek Daily News, not sure which since the Celestis publicist who set it up used both) at 10 a.m. I expect that to take anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes. Rick will want to know the story of how I got De’s lock of hair onto the Enterprise Memorial Flight that’s scheduled to launch on May 4th.
The Celestis publicist sent him my book about my decades-long friendship with the Kelleys so he has a chance to peruse it before we chat on Tuesday, so I expect it will be a good interview. When it goes live, I will post the link here, on my Facebook page, and on my book website at YellowBalloonPublications.com if I’m happy with the way it turns out. (I usually am!)
Chambers Bay Walkway
After that, I plan to spend part of the rest of the day walking the Chambers Bay Golf Course walkway again, the same trek I took last week with Laurel. I want to plan to do that twice a week because it’s a serious workout. If any of my friends in Tacoma who read this want to go along at any time, let me know! E me at krisATwordwhispererDOTnet and we’ll schedule a date and time that works for you! (You need to be in pretty physical good shape to take this walk. Read on.)
My walking path around home here has very few hills, and none of them are challenging. The Chambers Bay walkway has some challenging hills, so I want to take advantage of them whenever the weather allows.
I planned to go this weekend because the weather forecast (earlier last week) said it would be a lovely 55 to 60 degrees, but it has been overcast and hasn’t broken 46 degrees all weekend, so I decided to wait for warmer weather and no chanceof rain. Down by the beach it can get darned chilly if the wind picks up, and I didn’t feel like risking becoming a popsicle!
Another Sales Page is On the Horizon
My client let me know today he’s delighted with the sales page I wrote him (he always extols my sales page writing abilities — *sigh*), and says I will be getting another one to write later this week. I’m looking forward to that. (If you read yesterday’s blog post — or was it this morning’s, written sometime after midnight? — you know why. I LOVE writing sales pages!!!
Rat Adieu
One of my remaining three rats is approaching Rainbow Bridge Time. I expect her to pass any day now. The remaining two won’t be far behind her. They’re all approaching three years old, which is ancient for rats. Their average life span is two years. I started out with nine female rats (rescued so they wouldn’t become snake food); these are the three who made it through longest.
When they’re gone, I will be able to clear my den of the huge ferret habitat (which I brought in for the rats to live in, but they live atop it in cardboard box mazes that get swapped out every ten days or so), the 45-gallon terrarium that extends the width of the ferret habitat so the rats have lots of running room, and all the maze boxes, feed and other rat-related paraphernalia. My den will look HUGE after all of that has been moved out!
What Else?
Oh! I need to get back to Safeway to get my second shingles shot, too. I wanted to wait until my schedule was clear for several days in a row to do that, because I’ve read that the second shot has laid people low for several days. (Not always, but sometimes.) So, I didn’t want to risk getting it while there was so much going on, in case that happens to me. I don’t expect it will, but I wanted to make sure IF it does, it won’t interfere with anything important.
I still want to write, but I’m running out of ideas. The info above simply restates earlier posts. I thought writing them down would lube my brain and help me discover new gems, but not this time!!! GRRR! So I’m bummed and won’t publish this post to my Facebook page because it’s a rehash and would bore anyone who has heard the above stuff already.
