This morning I got my smile back. The denture fits perfectly.
And I no longer lisp. I just have to be careful not to whistle my s’s!
After the first of the year, I’ll get in touch with UW School of Dentistry and see what they’ll do an implant for up there. Down here it will cost $4K. Schools of Dentistry sometimes offer 30 to 40% off their services. I’d get it done sooner if I could get that kind of deal.
But this denture should last several years as long as I’m careful with it. It’s very comfortable. I just ate a banana and nothing got underneath it. I’m supposed to soak it three minutes every day in Polident and then brush it. I’m supposed to have it out of my mouth at least two hours every 24 hours, too. They say sleeping without it all night is fine, and eating at home without it is fine. It’s mostly designed for aesthetics, not for heavy duty chomping.
I’m very happy with it.
