Frustrated as HELL with Technology!

January 14, 2025

I have never been as frustrated with technology as I feel right now.

Lisa, my IT guru nephew Phil, and I have tried everything suggested by both companies — Genius Scan and Dropbox — to fix the connection snafu so I can proceed with preserving my journals, and nothing has worked.

I either get the error message “internet is down” (not true) or “failed to connect to (dropbox address).” I can successfully send test docs of one page, but not 38MB documents (which I had been doing without a hitch for weeks, 59 volumes worth!!!). Does this make it a CenturyLink issue?  Or what???

I just went to CenturyLink and ran a test, updated something that was suggested to help it run optimally, and am now waiting to see if that solves the problem. Probably not, because the exporting function timer has been sitting and spinning for more than two hours. GRRRR!  Is there a techie out there who has some idea of what might be going on???

Lisa set me up a new Google email account and a Google way to send the journals over, but I can’t find my way into it to see if the document I sent there actually made it over. My app says it did. I wish I was more tech savvy than I am. I’ll be totally screwed in Costa Rica if my tech friends and family can’t solve my tech issues remotely!

I am eight days (80 journals!!!) behind schedule because of this glitch and it’s driving me nuts.

Remaining journals to preserve as of January 14, 2025
