Feelin’ Groovy!

October 3, 2026

I woke up this morning with a favorite old song on my heart and lips: Feelin’ Groovy!

What a delightful way to start the day!

So I’m spending the morning masking/marinating in the feeling.

Nothing gets to intrude today

Politics?

Nope.

Not today!

Upcoming to do lists?

Nope.

Not today!

Concerns about anything else?

Nope.

Not today!

I have no idea why I resurrected into this groovy feeling this morning. Zero. Don’t recall any dreams that could have instigated it.

Maybe it’s just the universe telling me

…that I’ve done everything I can do about politics, upcoming responsibilities, and everything else that is foreseeable and concerning, so now I’m just supposed to feel what’s left to feel — which is exhilaration, squared.

I’m alive and well.

The people and critters I love are alive and well. The people and animals I love who are no longer here are tucked into my heart, where they provide constant joy and support.

The weather is sensational here where I live in San Isidro de Grecia. 78 degrees F and 90% humidity, which doesn’t bother me in the least (the humidity); my skin and hair look and feel better than they have in decades. (Sunscreen helps with that, but the humidity contributes, too!)

I’m listening to Spanish radio music and news and understanding more of it every day.

I feel completely at home here. Good friends, frequent walks, native critters and foliage in abundance.

It’s easy to feel giddy here

…when I remember not to get my knickers in a bunch about the stuff I have so little control over: US politics (I am one person and I have one vote, which I have already done for the midterms; and I have made it abundantly clear in this blog about how I feel about the present situation and what needs to be done to correct the ship of state), fate, the present currency exchange rate, etc.

What’s left for me to do but to enjoy what I see before me today: another glorious 12 hours before sunset to count my blessings and appreciate all the good things life has to offer.

It’s lovely being retired and able to wake to Feelin’ Groovy playing in my soul without trying to push it away and “get real”.

For me reality is glorious. Today. Right now. Which is really the only day and time we can rely on. So, I’m where I need to be, and should be more often than not!

Hope your day is equally groovy inside your heart and soul!
