I’m up in the middle of the freaking night because I went to sleep early and because I’m so excited about today’s episode of EVER NEW, which goes LIVE at 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time!
Today I am going to divulge things I have been keeping secret for days, weeks, or months. They are exciting things, fun things, poignant things. I will also have images to illustrate the “secrets” I’ve been keeping, including a couple of short videos.
Even if you’ve been following this blog or my Facebook page closely, you don’t (yet) know about one of the things I’ll be revealing today. It isn’t Kelley related. It’s critter related, so animal lovers will be very tickled to find out about it. (Hannah, Helen and a few others know this secret, and a few friends and family members know, but no one else does. All will be revealed today!)
This is going to be an episode that will put smiles on your face, and perhaps tears in your eyes. A number of people have told me that when they found out about the Kelley-related surprise, they cried tears of joy. THAT was a surprise! (I don’t know why that should have surprised me, but it did.)
I expect a larger EVER NEW audience this morning. The Kelley news alone should draw in new listeners/watchers. So, if the show is as good as I think it’s going to be, we should retain a number of them for future episodes. After all, we ALWAYS have a De segment on EVER NEW. On EVER NEW, De has never been forgotten. His spirit is more or less our North Star. We want to be the kind of people De was: kind, considerate, sassy, funny and, at times, even inspirational.
I’m more ebullient than De was, so what you’ll find on EVER NEW won’t be at all “laid back” in the way De was, but I hope enough of De rubbed off on me that I come across as accessible, welcoming, peaceable and uplifting. Oh, and as Krazy Kris at times, too! (If you’ve read my book about De, you know what that’s all about!)
My co-host Hannah McCrane, is more laid back than I am. At least, on EVER NEW she is. She will be flying out to stay with me for a week in October, so I will find out then how laid-back she is when not on the air. I have a feeling there’s more to Hannah than meets the eye. She majored in drama and the creative arts and graduated summa cum laude (translated, that means “with highest honors”), and she has been in lots of plays (including musicals) so I expect we’ll be singing a lot when she gets here. I am a fan of musicals. I know many show tunes by heart — ALL of The Music Man, MOST of Fiddler on the Roof, MOST of MAN OF LA MANCHA, MANY of Les Miserables, and a few others. We are going to have a whee of a time, guaranteed!
