EVER NEW Podcast Test #1 Dry Run Done!

December 10, 2021

Last night Roger D. Noriega and I did the EVER NEW Test #1 Dry Run with a few of his wonderful and amenable podcast followers so I could learn the ropes. It was fun. I look forward to doing at least three more dry runs before the debut on January 15 2022.

Next week’s Test #2 dry run is scheduled for 7pm Pacific Time on Thursday, December 16th, so if you have nothing better to do, it would be great to have you tune in at the link above (so we can interact directly) or from my Facebook Profile page, if you just want to be a fly on the wall and not ask questions or make comments.

But remember — it’s practice so I can learn the processes required by the podcast platform (which is Streamyard), so it won’t look or be as seamless and professional as it should (and will!)  during the debut and the weeks following.

PODCAST SCHEDULE DATES & TIMES

I’m planning to do the podcast bi-weekly at 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time on those every-other-Saturdays  that follow January 15th.  The show is scheduled to run an hour, but there is some leeway if we go a little over.

I can have as many as ten guests on screens at a time. I will have to learn how to do that, if it becomes necessary, but most of the interaction will probably be via the chat/comments box because so many of my followers are reticent to engage publicly live. (Hey, I am too but that’s how these things work and I hope I will feel completely confident by the 15th to pull it off. We’re going to see, that’s for sure!)

INTRODUCING THE INTRO

My intro each week will probably be something along these lines:

EVER NEW with Kris M. Smith IS ABOUT LIVING OUT LOUD, FORGING LASTING CONNECTIONS, AND VISITING WITH EFFERVESCENT THINKERS AND DREAMERS. IT’S AN UPLIFTING HOUR THAT PROMISES TO LEAVE EVERYONE FEELING BETTER. SO, WHO’S UP FOR SOME FUN? WELCOME! LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!

Do you like that, or do you have a better idea?  I’m all ears!  I want to get out the starting gate fleet of foot! (With the roadrunner being my birth spirit animal, I should probably have used a metaphor that included a roadrunner, but race horses came to mind first, so so be it!)

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!

I just bought an inexpensive clip on studio light source for  subsequent shows because the light in my den makes me look like I have a serious sunburn.  That won’t fly very far.  I also got a prescription from my dermatologist for some face cream to get rid of the rosacea on my nose and cheeks. That will help, too.  Other than those two UPCOMING tweaks, I think “I’m ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille.”  HA HA HA HA HA

Butterflies should start inhabiting my innards pretty much any time, now. This adventure is outside my comfort zone, but I plan to bring it inside it within weeks. It’s time to live out loud and not just in black and white on pages.
