Coming Soon: YellowBalloonPublications.com

July 3, 2016

I was given a fleeting glimpse of my new book website this evening…and I am so excited, I’m experiencing Christmas Tree Brain tonight. (Remember being a kid on the night before Christmas? Yeah, it’s like that. Maybe worse. Or better, I probably should say. It makes it hard to shut my eyes and go to sleep, though, which is why I’m sitting here typing this at 12:10 a.m. on July 3rd.

Lisa Twining Taylor is doing an amazing job–no surprise there, she always does–but she had outdone herself this time. I love the graphics, the font she chose, the white space… I just love everything about the new site!  As soon as it’s live, you’ll be able to see it at YellowBalloonPublications.com. (Heck, go there right now. I even love the Coming Soon page! Don’t you? *sigh*)

I just finished sending Lisa what she told me she still needs to square everything away: excerpts from each of the five titles, book descriptions, reader reviews, and PDFs of all titles.

All we’re waiting for now are the audio book files for DeForest Kelley Up Close and Personal, and another audio excerpt or two from it and we’ll have everything we need (I think!) to publish the website and get underway at warp six to let the world know of the many De-lights we offer to unsuspecting folks who don’t know me from Adam right now.

I’m starting to build buzz already…

  • The Northern Kittitas County Tribune (NKCT)will have an interview with me in it next Thursday (date tentative) about my association with De
  • Cowboys and Indians magazine will run an article (in its Nov-Dec issue) that I wrote about DeForest Kelley’s reminiscences about making westerns .
  • Billie Rae Walker is pitching an interview she did with me to some Star Trek-centric magazines.
  • I created super-affordable PDF versions of all of my books so none of the titles are priced beyond the reach of interested readers.(More costly print editions of the books are still available for the fans/readers who want to hold a real book in their hands, as are Kindle editions of every title.)
  • The audio book version of DeForest Kelley Up Close and Personal will have actual voicemail messages from Carolyn and DeForest Kelley and other celebrities on it, making it an exclusive offering. (I narrated the audio book.)
  • I’m listed as a guest speaker at the only 50th annivesary Star Trek convention in the Pacific Northwest this year (Starkane).
  • I’m looking for additional venues–TV, radio, magazines–and podcasts, virtual interviews, Google Hangouts, whatever else to get together, in actuality or virtually, to chat and build fond bonds with existing and potential readers. Can you help? Do you know any influential professionals who might be interested in interviewing me?

I’ll send the upcoming NKCT interview to the Tacoma News Tribune, Seattle Times and The Olympian and let them know about my article in the upcoming Cowboys and Indians magazine and my upcoming appearance at Starkane in September to see if they’d be interested in doing an interview or writing/receiving an article about me to share with their readers. (Local authors are often compelling subjects…especially if what they write about is topical, as Star Trek is this year.)

I’ll get with Lisa again this week to discuss a Facebook campaign to drive the ideal clients for each title to my new website to discover more about me, the books I’ve written, and where I’ll be “appearing” in person and in print during Star Trek’s 50th anniversary, which is being celebrated all year long by Trek/sci-fi fans near and far.

There is a lot to think about, and a lot to do… but I’m loving every minute of it.

I hope you’ll make YellowBalloonPublications.com a frequent stopping place. If you like it, please bookmark it and LIKE and SHARE it with your friends, family, and business associates. There should be a treasure there for nearly everybody you know if they enjoy reading (or listening to) books. Check out the titles, the book descriptions and the reviews from readers. Read the excerpts. I think you’ll find something there you’ll want to pick up–or have someone pick up for you!  Good books make great gifts for nearly every occasion.
