Busy Weeks Upcoming

June 7, 2025

The next few weeks will be busy, all in good ways!

My cousin Patty arrives on Monday.  I don’t know how long she plans to stay, but if it’s two weeks or more, she will be able to enjoy two special occasions with me: The Kings Books event on June 11th at 6 PM and a lunchtime gathering a week later with my friends Lisa, Jessie and Judi at Judi’s place on Enchanted Island in Spanaway.

I don’t know what Patty will want to do while she’s here this time, but I imagine there will be a trip to the coast or to Puget Sound so she can take in some negative ions from large bodies of water. She grew up in Lompoc, CA., near the Pacific Ocean, but now lives in land-locked Colorado, so I expect she misses being near beaches. I’m less than a half hour from Puget Sound and less than two hours from the Pacific Ocean, so both are well within my “can do” range!

Starting next weekend, Mr. Tumnus and Tillie (my two goats) will be relocated to their new home less than a mile away.  I will help the new owner transport them and all of their many accessories/accoutrements as best I can.

Sometime after June 11th, I will be taking the sixteen boxes of Kelley/Trek treasures to the post office to mail them off to the Texas collector. I hope someone will be along to help me schlep them to my van and into the post office lobby.  I have a small cart, but it holds only six boxes at a time, probably. I figure I can start processing the first load at the register while someone else (Patty, Lisa, Jackie, Wendy, or someone else who’s handy and willing) fetches the remaining boxes in the SUV.

After those are gone, I can start advertising garage sales again and arranging to get those underway on subsequent Saturdays at least once or twice a month.

Jackie and I have to finalize the new hen pen (where the goats are right now) by dismantling the existing one and reassigning the wire that covers it all so the hens stay within their new parameters and won’t be able to get out over the wire roof that exists right now.

I also have to start gathering my CR paperwork (FBI background check, birth certificate, SS document) starting in mid-June.

And make flight arrangements.

And schedule Charli’s vet exam and paperwork.

And decide on an Air BnB, or hotel, or short-term stay for after I land in CR.

Gadzooks!!!  With all I have still to do before I say sayonara forever to the United States, the rest of my time in the U.S. is going to fly by!
