I posted separate links to my books at Amazon from my Facebook page this morning. What I discovered while doing it was amazing!
Although I have a pegged list of my books at the top of my Facebook page, people who follow me get used to seeing it (as even I do!!!) and just quickly scroll past it to get to what’s new.
Ahem! That’s NOT helpful!Â
It’s pegged there to remind Facebook friends to share it occasionally so the books get more traction. But they forget to do that — as I do!!!  So when I DO remember (about every blue moon!), I prompt folks to share individual titles by posting them separately at Facebook.
The problem is that either FB or KDP/Amazon doesn’t show images of the covers when I do that, so all people see are unidentified links, which is painfully unhelpful.
Images are crucial to capturing attention!
But what’s amazingly cool (to me)
… (discovered just this morning!) is that now at Amazon there’s an AI tool that actually answers questions about the various titles which potential readers may want to ask about the books, and it’s pretty darned impressive to read what that interface generates about my books.
It’s like having my own personal publicist without needing to pay for one. Of course, since Amazon and the printer get the lion’s share of the profits from every single book sold — I get around three dollars maximum for each one — it’s in Amazon’s best interest to offer this virtual helpmate. Even so, I’m grateful because I very much love what I find there when I click on the interface and see the variety of questions it generates so potential readers can ask it to help them decide to buy the books!
I hope you’ll check it out right now
… AND maybe put a little reminder on your calendar (pretty please!) about sharing the links on Facebook and your other social media sites to help get the word out about them!
Word-of-mouth and viral sharing of your favorites with people you know who love the topics is an enormous help to indie authors like me. Thank you!
