At Loose Ends for the Time Being

November 21, 2022

It’s Monday . I’m all caught up for the moment writing for clients, so I cleaned the house, swept the sidewalk in back, and fed all the critters, and now I’m at loose ends.

Now I’m waiting for Lisa to stop by to pick up the boxes she had shipped here. There are several of them.

She lives in an apartment complex and doesn’t feel good about having deliveries left outside her door when she’s away, so she has stuff shipped here, since I’m nearly always at home (I work from home) and when I’m not, my sister and/or nieces or Phil and Wendy are, so there is always someone who can bring in whatever arrives on our front porch within seconds of it being delivered.

There isn’t much news to share.

Holiday Plans

We have Thanksgiving plans that will take place here at home and at Lisa’s. Edward and I are going to Lisa’s. Lisa is cooking and I’m bringing the drinks and a few games to play.

We bought a 23-pound turkey at Winco, so there will be lots of leftovers. She’s getting a rare two days off in a row this week, and working just half days today, tomorrow and Wednesday, so she has lots of time to bake pies and do all the other prep that can be done ahead of time. She LOVES cooking and baking. (Not I!)

The McNiven clan will be here at Jackie’s, on her side of this “duplex.”  I reckon the driveway will be crammed with cars that day, so I need to be sure there’s still enough room available so I can get out of the garage in the afternoon and so Edward can park his vehicle either in my spot in the garage or beside the house.  We’ll work it out. Jackie has a horde here every Sunday and they all manage to fit into the driveway!

Early 2023 Plans

I put on my Celestis hoodie/sweatshirt briefly to be sure it fits. It does. It’s very warm and plush, so if it’s a cold day in Florida on the day of the launch, I can wear it and probably just a light jacket and feel comfortable. On the other days, I think everything will be indoors, and formal, so I have set aside some nice clothes and shoes, too.

In addition to the flight to Florida for the ENTERPRISE launch and memorial service, I’m making plans to spend some time with a client I’ve had for six years. We have never met before, since we live kitty corner across the country from each other (I’m in Washington State) so we’re both very much looking forward to it. She and her husband live less than an hour away from Cape Canaveral, so getting together should be easy enough!  I’m going to see if I can get them in as guests for the launch, too. They’ve never been to one, as far as I know.

That’s all I have so far today!
