Another day, and more of the waiting game.

 

No one should wish their life away, but gosh darn it, this is halfway to agonizing!

 

I walked first thing this morning because I had nothing better to do.

 

Tomorrow I get my last finger poke on this side of the move and Lisa will be over — off and on — for two days getting the stuff in her shed down-sized and re-stored in another shed here on the property (whatever she doesn’t take away to keep at her home).

 

She will also transfer the stuff from this desktop to my laptop so I can erase what’s on this one (before I dispose of it or give it to someone else who needs a decent desktop and monitor — speak up now if you do!!!) and start using the laptop to familiarize myself with it before I fly down.

 

I bought an external mouse for the laptop because the touchpad method drives me nuts.

 

Didn’t Get My Flu Shot

 

I didn’t get my flu shot the other day because Walgreen’s told me to go to Safeway to get it or they’d have to charge a $100 “administration fee” to put it in my arm. (WTAF?!)

 

So, I went to Safeway and they don’t have the 2025 version of it yet, and may not until I fly.

 

So, I called my doctor and left a message to see if she can administer it. I have to stop by to get written prescriptions anyway (for continuity of care after I move) and I’d like to get a urinalysis to be sure I don’t have a UTI before I fly down. (I get them without pain or burning; the only indication is the color of my urine, which varies with the amount of water I drink during the day.)

 

Update: My doctor will arrange all but the flu shot, as their clinic hasn’t received them yet. I sure hope Safeway gets them within two weeks of when I fly. Otherwise I may decide to pay $100 to have Walgreen’s administer it.

 

I want to be totally protected (recently) before I get on a plane or into a crowded airport.  I have never had the flu, but I don’t want to risk getting it.

 

I did get a 2024 booster for COVID and a pneumonia shot a few weeks ago, so I’m good to go there.  They don’t have the 2025 Covid boosters yet (no thanks to Trump and RFK Jr.) but they said the 2024 booster should do a pretty good job of protecting me, so I’m crossing my fingers and going with it!

 

And then when I get to CR I can worry about contracting dengue fever from mosquitoes!  (I have lots of the correct bug spray, so the chances will be slim to nil.)
