Today I somehow managed to get in another 10K steps. Pretty astonishing!
I was also able to sell my Kia Sedona for the price I wanted for it and I get to keep it until a day or two before I fly away, too. I got a down payment on it this morning. The buyer was looking for a vehicle for his father and then decided to get mine for himself. It was wild, and he is a terrific guy.
In addition to that sale, I made almost $450 more. Several of my remaining De items went — the two standees, two signed posters, the Walk of Fame jacket — and I was able to sell other items, too.
Several Spanish-speaking families stopped by and shopped, so I was able to fumble and stumble through a few fun conversations with them. Most of them were about where I am, learning-wise, with their English, so between what we knew of the other’s lingua franca, we did pretty darned fine and even shared a few heartfelt laughs.
And yes, I’m exhausted. But tomorrow we do it again. Tomorrow, my niece Sirkka and her son will be my sidekicks for much of the day. (Jackie has pretty much had it with garage sales. )
My niece Wendy made me a wonderful salad for lunch. It really hit the spot. Other than that, all I’ve had today was two eggs, two pieces of turkey bacon on toast, and two wee plastic cups of cinnamon applesauce. No wonder I’m losing weight!
I don’t know what’s for dinner tonight. Maybe nothing. I may be too tired to eat but to hungry to sleep! We’ll see!
I’m meeting with another eventual Costa Rica-bound individual on Sunday. Her name is Dee and she is an Iraqi vet. She’s very interested in moving down and wants to pick my brain. I will let her know about my wonderful immigration coach, Margaret Aliff, for sure!
My third and last required apostilled document arrived today, so I’m good to go. My bags are packed already. Seriously. Except for my laptop and a few items I’m using every day, everything is in the two suitcases. It all fits. (Well, the “must haves” fit. The “nice to haves” can arrive piecemeal as people from the Pacific NW fly down to visit me. All in good time!)
That’s it for this time. I’m gonna shut this thing down and de-escalate!
Rainbow Village at Villas Escondidas, it won’t be long now! Charli and I will be ready to crash in that queen room you reserved for me before you know it!
