Today I have a rare, spare day off. I have ZERO plans today, so what the heck am I going to do with myself?
Maybe I’ll go kayaking again if my kayak buddies are available! I’ve texted them to see if they are… (Update: Judi isn’t but perhaps Jessie is, so I have texted her to find out. Judi says I/we can use her kayak/s if need be.)
I’ve ordered my prescriptions ahead of the move. I will call CHC tomorrow morning and have them mail me the written prescriptions so I can show them (for continuity of care) when I get down there.
My vehicle buyer will be here Sunday morning to drive the vehicle ahead of time, since he didn’t get a chance to do that the day he committed to buying it. He will take actual delivery of it within 36 hours of when I fly out, which is perfect timing. He will be on vacation (away from home) for a couple weeks before that, so me keeping the vehicle to use between now and then has not been an issue at all. We’ll do the transfer paperwork that day, I’ll receive full payment, and we’ll both be good to go!
It feels weird to have nothing to do this close to the move!
Tomorrow I’m having pizza with Cathy and Derreck Clark at their place. That will be fun.
On the 11th I have to request the unblocking of my phone so it will work in CR upon my arrival. (I have to give two weeks’ notice.)
Next Wednesday the antique dresser goes to its new home.
The following week I call to see if the 2025 flu shots are available so I can get immunized at least two weeks before I get on the plane.
I hope to fit in an additional visit with Chris Bailey sometime this week.
And additional visits with Lisa, Judi, Jessie and anyone else who wants to see me before I leave.
All the big, time-consuming stuff is complete, so I will have more availability than I’ve had in months. That’s a good thing, as long as I can fill up the time so I don’t start catastrophizing and imagining Kobayashi Maru scenarios about the flight or move! So far, I’m still feeling quite tranquilo about the whole thing!
Hurray for my team — and I do mean team! I couldn’t feel this great about everything without the care, concern and support of everyone on both ends of this grand new adventure!
