In the past two weeks, I’ve landed two new clients, both of whom will be using me every other week or so for the foreseeable future. One of them has already given me a fabulous review, but that’s because I served her once or twice before, years ago, and she knows I deliver each and every time. Here’s her review:
“When you listen to Kris Smith or read what he writes for you, you begin to understand the power and eloquence of words. His passion for riveting communication is evident in each word he speaks and writes. He beautifully defines and expounds to create excitement and fun notes in all his writings. His words create the aha moments that customers relate to. When you read them, they seem so conversational and basic, but then you wonder how he managed to make them magical. Hard to explain in a review. But I guess it’s simply his love and passion that carries readers through every written word.
“Kris’s delivery turnaround is fast, he responds quickly to requested changes, and he isn’t afraid to give you his professional insights if he thinks something you want to do will shoot you in the foot. He’s a trusted team member and a true collaborator.
“I highly recommend Kris if you want your customers to feel your passion about what you know and feel about your field and about them. He has never disappointed when helping me define my passions for everyone to understand.” — Sharon Uhlig, Stych Inc
I’m writing blog posts for Stych. If you visit their site, the most recent one I wrote mentions the TV series Columbo. You can’t miss it.
I was quite hesitant to take on a clothing/tailoring client, as I’m about as far from a clothes/fashion horse as you can get, but I said I’d give it my best shot and if it passed muster, I would keep doing it as long as we’re all happy with the result, and so far, so good! I’ve just submitted my second blog post to them, and am waiting to hear back. (They send me bullet lists of talking points for each post, so the info is good. I don’t have to worry about finding stuff on the ‘Net to use as source materials that might be bogus. They’re the experts and they know what’s legit and not, so it works in this case: I don’t have to be any kind of expert: I just have to make the info easy, fun, and understandable to read.)
The other new client is an entepreneur in Atlanta, Georgia (formerly Alabama). He’s an inspiring guy. We spoke on Zoom for almost an hour yesterday. He was sold on me before we connected, after reading my writing examples and client reviews, and I was sold on him the moment he showed me a few introductory videos about himself, his “why”, and his services, with him on screen talking about them and to some of his existing clients. (The “why” link in the foregoing sentence gives a brief introduction to why an entrepreneur’s “why” is so crucial to their success. Look for the longer version on youtube by Simon Sinek to learn more.)
The guy is amazing! I foresee a huge global audience for him in the not-too-distant future. I’ll be writing some of his sales copy. He could certainly do it himself — he’s every bit as articulate as I am — but he wants to spend his time in other ways, and I thrive on writing sales pages, so it’s a great match. I am sooo onboard with what he’s offering. The world needs him. He’s a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practitioner, advocate and coach. He accepts me wholeheartedly as a transgender individual. (Yes, even in the Bible belt, LGBTQIA+ advocates and allies abound.) I love his spirit.
While I’m at it here, I may as well post another review I received this month. (I forget to update my testimonials page every time I get a new review.) It was written by Heidi Smith (no relation, but a dear friend), completely without prompting. It just appeared on my FB page to delight me one day the week before last. Here it is:
“What would happen if you were able to actually publish adverts that got you results?
“In all of my years working with businesses and even my time being exposed to some of the most expensive advert experts charging thousands …NONE….yes…I do mean NONE! have come close to what Kris can do for you in getting you and your product out there!
“He ‘gets’ people and their message and his skill in bringing your customers to your table will make you believe in his skill as a “Word Whisperer!” And all without breaking the bank…” – Heidi Smith (no relation), Christmas Revisited.
And while I’m at it, I’ll post a couple more. They’re short and sweet and from the same client, but super effective!

The above client cannot be identified, as I’m under a Non-disclosure agreement with them. But they’re high profile and a bestselling author.
This sign (on the door of my office) always inspires me to do my best!
